Do you care to stand up for a higher priced product that may not be as good?

Recent evidence suggests you are into NE IPAs. ... Hell, even Suds Terkel mentioned them in a recent NWI Entertainer article. You should read it, its pretty good stuff.

Just an FYI, the 86th Rock Bottom location will be closing within the next couple weeks (I think it's the 16th, not sure). So, if you like their NE IPAs, you better drink them up now before they're gone forever.

Any idea where the brewer is going? I literally just started frequenting the location.

No idea. Hopefully he takes his recipes and goes to a good brewery somewhere around town. It would be a shame if he just stops brewing.

450 N made a pretty good milkshake IPA, Fresh Froot. I've not had much of this style, but I really enjoyed it. It's a bit pricey, $20/4 pack of 16 oz IIRC.

Was at Rock Bottom CP last night and can confirm this observation. There is a sign posted on the front doors. Last day is Oct 15th. Slowroll is still on as is Slowroll with apricot.

So sad. I heard about this last week and am pretty disappointed. Was a favorite of mine about 10 years ago. But I just don't get there regularly anymore. I'll be visiting this weekend to help drink the beers.

I'm hoping anyone visiting this weekend will pump them for more info!!

I was looking forward to stopping in on a trip to Louisville based on the hype here. Looks like I just missed it...

Great visits to Windmill and 18th Street this past weekend. Both have delicious beer.
Seems like Windmill is just getting their feet under them, but Luther looked very comfortable. I enjoyed the barrel aged Belgian quad shown here.

And my buddy enjoyed Hey Mikey.
No Memes available but we were told they would be back soon. The bartender said they were pleasantly surprised with the recent turnout for release.

18th Street only had the coffee Hunter on tap, so I went with The Fox and the Hunted porter and the Kuma's Korner collaboration Kolsch, Defiance Alliance seen here:

Other stops Saturday were west of there, so I won't go off-topic.
There are many more to hit in Indiana, so I will be back. (Meant as a warning, not a threat.)

I'm sure people are aware by now but the Rock Bottom brewer, Jason, is now at their downtown Indy location.

Perfect timing, as my trip is tomorrow...is there haze at either location right now?

the college park location closed on sunday. so the downtown spot is the only one right now. I don't know what's on tap currently or what they did with the beer that was left over.

Didn't want to create a new thread for this so I thought I'd drop it in here. The IndyStar has a long article out today about the power of the liquor store lobby in Indiana. We all know about the fights over Sunday sales and cold beer sales going on between the liquor store lobby and the convenience and grocery store groups. But there was one tidbit I found very interesting involving Triton Brewing.

"In 2015, the first time a Sunday sales bill was given a hearing in the House, liquor stores took aim at an Indiana brewery.

Cam Carter, a minority owner of the Triton Brewing Company and an economic development advocate for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, made a passionate plea in support of Sunday sales — and criticizing what he called "concierge legislating" on behalf of the liquor store industry.

Within hours of his testimony, several liquor store chains canceled orders or removed Triton products from their shelves, costing Triton tens of thousands of dollars, according to several people familiar with the boycott."

The entire article is worth a read if you're interested in the behind-the-scenes of how our archaic liquor laws stay in place. The short answer is $$$$$$$.

Not sure if I understand everything being said here.

Liquor stores should want to make Sunday sales legal, while Breweries should want to keep sunday sales banned. Why? Because Liquor stores arguably lose business to breweries if someone wants something on a Sunday and they did not plan ahead.

I'm not sure why a brewery owner would advocate on behalf of sunday sales, and I'm not sure why liquor stores would withdraw sales from someone whom is essentially advocating on their behalf.

Either way breweries win, it's just that you could argue that hyper-local breweries win less by Sunday sales than without.

Liquor stores have always been vehemently against Sunday sales. They always argue that Sunday sales would benefit larger grocery stores at their expense. Part of it is arguing that it would cost liquor stores more to staff stores on Sundays than what they would make in sales. (I think that's the argument, though it begs the question, are stores in Indiana more inefficient than stores in other states that have Sunday sales?)

I think the owner of Triton was simply arguing in favor of Sunday sales because of his unrelated position with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Some liquor stores apparently retaliated by dropping Triton from their stores.

I've never been a huge fan of Triton, but I'm going to be throwing more business their way after this issue.

The liquor stores are trying to drive out competition, plain and simple. It's the same argument against cold beer sales at convenience or grocery stores. Liquor stores in other states do just fine with Sunday and cold sales competition.
