New to Ohio (2017)

What exactly is a "brown" in this case? Since styles are so bastardized now (and I'm not sure what a "true brown" would be), any additional information would be greatly appreciated by someone whom has tried it.

 

I suspect it is probably an English brown style base. They posted it is 8%, so it's not an abv behemoth. One more thing, they have "Four Blended Barrels" - a four different barrel aged blended oud bruin releasing tomorrow in bottles also!!

 

I'd say think of cold-brew coffee color, medium body, not as thick/sweet as a wee heavy. The adjuncts are all prevalent, but roasted coffee is the biggest. I compare it to something like espresso over vanilla ice cream.

 

When they had this on draft at Cle Heights, it was fantastic. Didn't realize they were gonna bottle some, but that's awesome.

Backwoods is going out this week. A couple places got it today.

 

Really wonder what this will mean for CBS. If I miss out on it in Indiana...I'mma B rubbernecking in Ohio the next week.

 

I was wondering the same thing. It seems to have hit stores all over the US this past week.

 

was told distributor is expecting Born Yesterday, today.

 

Since hop stalker and Yakima fresh are so good and available this year, I won't need to chase born yesterday (born last week?). Got both ohio offerings a few days after bottling without the hoopla that born yesterday gets.

 

I am stocked up on Hop Stalker but since CBC doesn't distribute to Cincinnati Yakima fresh does me no good. Unless of course someone wants to bring me some

 

You're not missing much. Both are pretty identical. Did a few blind comparison tastings with some friends and liked HS slightly more the first time, YF the second. Can't go wrong with either.
