It's hilarious. I like how he insinuates that those in line have no responsibilities. I am full of responsibilities. I am also trying to take an early Saturday morning for something I want, for me. And "peanut gallery" shouldn't really apply to anyone actively IN the conversation.

    This exactly.

"Hey honey, will you get up at 7 am with me and grab a ticket then you can go back home and back to bed."

Or just grab a ticket early and come back if the place doing the release allows it and that's your preference of how to spend your time.

I'm with you that I don't think that's what they're doing, but the problem is none of us know for sure.

I doubt we will get any clarification, until the actual tickets are handed out, but hopefully!

I do wonder if there are any areas of gray in the situation. For example, I live about 45 minutes away and had planned to show up at 730. To save time, once I received my ticket, I had planned to do a quick 3 mile run in the neighborhood, and then go back to my spot in line and join in the bottle share. If people weren't ok with that, I would just stay in my place in line the full time and join in on the share.

Either way, I get it and am still excited for the morning. I was just looking for a way to stay healthier while also continuing my unfortunate drinking/eating habits.

The line is right there on the IL Prairie Path man! Great running along there!

The older I get, the less I like the bottle sharing in line aspect of bottle releases.

If you want to have an event, have an event. Sell tickets.

All it does is encourage people to line up earlier and earlier, and it makes me not care one ioata about “not putting in my time” if I don’t have to.

Ok but.... this isn't some big event. It's not Chaos day. It's a regular ass bottle release. I don't mind sharing a bottle or two in line. I'm not looking for a DLD-grade bottle share here. It's just something to do while you wait, and I'm glad that so far the Villa Park PD has let it fly. Waiting in line at Mikerphone sucks for this very reason.

I’d argue that when people line up outside your doors at 7am, and you can’t walk into the restaurant off the street until at least 2 hours after the doors open, it’s an event.

Weird. I wouldn't call lining up somewhere that, at all. What about people who line up at toy stores in December to try to score a video game system? Is that an event? No that's just a bunch of people who want something so they line up to get it.

Can you walk into Toys R Us at 10am and buy a teddy bear if you have no interest in the PS5? Yeah.

Yuh can’t walk into MoRe to grab food or a drink until they’ve gone through everyone in line, which last time, was well after 1pm.

A great time was had by all at the IL SOS event today. Waited in line for three hours with some really fun people and now I have a new DL with an overexposed photo.

So THAT is the defining factor between an event and a bunch of people lining up? hahaha ok.

I would say it’s a combination of people lining up
Hours before the business opens, and the business being closed to walk-in customers and unable to resume normal operations until the people in line have been attended to.

It sounds exactly like a private event. You just need to line up to get an invite.

Huh, I was planning on getting a single ticket, then finding a Kinko's with a scanner and Photoshop to create a bunch more. Your method is sooooo much simpler and I wouldn't even have to get up early! #gotstogetmytradebaityo #allsfairinloveandwhalez
