Been in line since this morning. As previously mentioned, I was 6th in line but have somehow become 8th.

See you all at More tomorrow! Can't wait to see what madness occurs.

Side note, they just posted saying people should not leave the line for long periods of time. So there's that!

Well my definition of 'long periods of time' is a few months so I should be good if I run to a local breakfast joint for a couple hours followed by a nap in the car, right? Not sure these guys have a clue. If any area release these days warrants online ticketing it's these guys stout releases yet they don't do it seemingly for fear of upsetting their early-rising, bottle-sharing hardcore regulars I suppose.

I don’t think a brewery that’s been open for 3 months should be going online tickets only. And I think they deserve some time to figure things out and improve the organization. But I agree that gray areas are going to be exploited so try not to leave them

Not sure why you think they don't have a clue. They are trying to address the issue of line cutting by handing out tix as you arrive. We can bitch and complain about every way a brewery releases a beer. Deal with it. As @YoDudeguy said either line up or don't. It's your choice. No release method is perfect. I applaud that they are trying to address something differently! See y'all tomorrow!

Although More has only been open 3 months StB came with a reputation & track record from RAM related to his releases (lines with bottle shares & the sub group of line cutter/limit scammer/bottle flipper bros that show up) I don't think it's fair to claim this is all new or unexpected to the folks at More.

Why don't you just show up at 9 or 10? You'll get a bottle and can sleep in your bed and get breakfast before heading over. But I guess you have to play Devils advocate and go against what the brewery is going for lol

Doing online tickets should be driven entirely by demand imo. Sure, they've been only open for ~3 months but is doing an online ticket sale that difficult or complicated? It's an honest question as I do not know tbh but it seems many breweries do it fine. And it's not like the brewer hasn't been involved with other releases back in his days at the RAM.

I know as a brewer at RAM that he created the lines but I have no idea how much he had to do with the logistics of them.

A 3 month old brewery should be growing their customer base while involving and rewarding repeat customers/regulars. Shutting out some locals due to online tickets would be a bad move for a new business in Villa Park imo

But how are locals necessarily being rewarded with the current approach? I've never been to the brewery (not a local certainly) but I could easily go there in the morning at the crack of dawn and take a spot away potentially from a local. I've seen posts from people in this thread from IN and WI who are planning to go as well. Not sure if the local argument holds any water here. An unannounced release at the brewery would be more apt for the local argument imo.

Rewarded maybe was the wrong word. Not excluded would be more accurate. I think it would be off putting for a VP resident to discover their new local brewery went online only and took away the option of showing up early and waiting.

I think a lot of the suggestions in this thread are what’s best for the posting member’s chance of gettting a bottle but not what’s best for the health of the business
