Damn, I really want to try Pepe the Shark but doubt I'll be able to get cans unless there are still some left tomorrow

This one seems to have sold out the first day. At least in Berkeley. I guess people liked the name. I expect there will be a second batch, though, since Fieldwork seems to do that with their more popular beers.

I tried their Bad Conduct which is similar (Maple Imperial Brown) but adds Chocolate and Vanilla beans.

I'm not the best person to comment because I've disliked every dark beer Fieldwork has made. As you can imagine, they have a similar profile. And after having even the super hyped Double Stack from Great Notion, realized I'm not the biggest fan of maple syrup in beers.

Our palates and preferences couldn't be more opposite. I love Fieldwork's brown ales and adjuncts, nitro Chocolate Milk is a must grab everytime I see it for my preferences. Double Stack was good, but too sweet (I don't have much of a sweet tooth). Greatly preferred Bad Conduct to it.

Agreed. Pepe the Shark is delightful, exploded with tons of citrus hop aroma and a light herbal finish from the Idaho 7. It didn't taste like 9%! Eastside Motel was also amazing and I preferred it slightly to Pepe. Fieldwork has found their zone for the double IPAs now. Excited to try one of the overripe cans soon as well.

Anybody had OverRipe! from the last batch? I really liked the batch before but the last one is completely off.

In what ways? Off flavors or just disappointing? I wasn't too thrilled by the last batch so I avoided getting this one.

The batch before was very bright and had very interesting white wine like hop character. Hops in this batch are muted, and beer itself has fermentation defects (I think). I drain pour beer very rarely, but I was not able to finish both of my cans with a week long interval between them.

This could be like a few weeks ago when it was 2 cans on Friday.... then 2 different cans on Saturday.

I am planning on at least hitting Friday to get the Sonoma Pride IPA.

First look at Fieldwork "Sonoma Pride" IPA. Listed as a "Strong Ale". Looks pretty hazy.

What time did they release them yesterday? I swung by around two and didn't see them available.

The Wayback Machine hasn't crawled the beer list that often, but it does show that One Star Review and All Sticky No Icky weren't there on October 24th.

It's actually interesting to see how much has changed between then and now. I diff'd the pages and found that several beers had been removed, in addition to the ones added…
Added: All Sticky No Icky, Goyz N The Hood, Hazy Glue, One Star Review, St Vito's Ire, Sonoma Pride
Removed: Cirque, County Line, Oktoberfunk, Serarc

I think it was 5pm in Berkeley. They showed up around 7pm in San Mateo. They weren't in when I arrived but I started to see people carrying 'em out around then.

It's got an interesting mouthfeel. Not juicy…it's creamy.

Late to the party, but came here to say that Pepe the Shark was an awesome beer. Really great depth of flavor, incredibly balanced. Reminiscent of a few Trillium IPA's that I have tried.

    Fieldwork is killing it!
