Reminds me of a place that just opened up near me, their slogan is “No gods, no masters”. Kinda punk rock, all the brew I’ve tried from them has been killer.

Retired USAF, was in Communications Maintenance. Was happy sitting at home, but the kids aged out on me & it got boring. My skills got a little dated, so I went back to school & now I am a Biomedical Technician ( Medical Equipment Testing & Repair ).

I used to work for a Liquor store that sold craft beer and I had such a difficult time trying to sell craft beer. I would generally get the but it does not taste like bud, I would say that it point. Or I do not like dark beer. I try to tell them that they were missing out. about 85% of the time the would just grab a BMC and go on their merry way.

I own a small design/build mechanical engineering company. Automation equipment, consumer products, industrial products.... I love beer, but I really love seeing stuff I design built and work (or sometimes not work). Its all about the challenge. The beer tastes good when things work and even better when they don't.

I am the beer director for my local package store. Not exactly as glorious as you would think where the beer flows endlessly and I'm always swimming in rare beer. Most of beer business is still macro where I am. Still, my job is to buy, drink, and talk about beer. Not a bad gig if you ask me!

You're right about that. Between working 90 hour work weeks and sleeping, I try to fit in one or 2 a night to sleep comfortably ha ha.

Isn't a good part of it education though, if it's a blank page to them how would they know how to respond to a big-tasting beer? If they were told, oh this is how beer tasted when your great grandad was 21, and people liked the full malty taste, beer was like that for centuries, liked the hop bitter to balance it off, etc. wouldn't more be motivated to try?

Or was it really more price-driven for that 85%? Even if it was, I don't think all would decide just on price. If they thought they had a reason to try it, maybe that 85% would drop to 50%.

Either way I think educating the consumer is vital.

I want to add that i used to work in the alcohol business. Ran a craft section of a liqour store. Moved onto working in a craft brewery. Some life things came up, needed more dough (pun) went back to cooking. I love making pizza now that i learned to do it. Id still love to brew but im not too good at it and i love the pizza game so much that i couldnt possibly choose now at this moment.

Home improvement contractor/carpenter/cabinet maker. That's why I drink so much. I was a tool and die maker in my younger years and I still have my tools. I love to home brew but work always gets in the way.
