Our local beer shop here in Hickory has confirmed the beginning of November. Jason apparently informed him it would be the first half of November at some point.

Ouch, paid 7.99 for mine. It was my first time having the beer and its pretty darn good. Nothing earth shattering but a solid dipa..well balanced with a nice resinous finish. I think its easily the best bottled (D)IPA from NC (not saying much, I know).

You just love slagging off NC, don't ya now? Even your compliments are loaded: "Dude, your wife's huuuuge ass looks pretty good in those jeans." I even think I saw you hate on NC beers in a Pliny vs. Heady thread a while back...

What's it to ya baldy? Just kidding...I live here and that's how I feel. I try any "local" brew I can get my hands on and am constantly disappointed at the quality of bottled NC beers vs. the type of talent/quality that I know a lot of these breweries have/are capable of. I hate that I don't have more local beers into my 'everyday rotation' because there are so few appealing bottled options. Not hating on NC...love the beer culture, the folks and the breweries etc..just wish there were more high quality bottled beers being put out by the long list of quality breweries in the area. Out of curiosity, what's your favorite bottled IPA from NC?

I gotcha man, that was mostly tongue-in-cheek (though, honestly, if BA boards had signatures, yours would definitely be "There Are No Good Bottled IPAs in NC"). I know you don't hate NC or its beer culture, only its bottled IPAs. And you're right, I don't dig a ton of bottled IPAs here...that's why I brew, almost exclusively, my own hoppy beers, trade for HF/Pliny/Alpine, and pick up the occasional Sculpin or something along those lines. But here's the thing: there aren't a ton of good bottled IPAs anywhere. Start brewing your own, you'll see what I mean. Bottling a GREAT IPA is like catching lighting in a bottle. I do think Death By Hops is a good bottled IPA. But honestly, I brew my own daily drinkers. No offense intended (snark was for snark's sake, and because I have a long-running joke about backhanded compliments with a good friend).

Edit: Shaved my head for cancer solidarity, ass

No need brother, just some more snark for good measure. In all seriousness, not trying to berate you for having an opinion or anything like that. I just feel like we're so incredibly fortunate to have access to amazing beer from all of the world and right in our backyard, so it should be all about celebrating it. Not every beer I have knocks my socks off, but plenty do and others are provide plenty of enjoyment without being the next great amazing splendiferous thing (hell yes, iPad autocorrected to splendiferous). I mean, when I was in college in the 90s-00s, I had my choice of Natty's, Beasts, PBRs, and perhaps the occasional score of SNPA or something like that (small town, before craft was exploding). By the time I went back to grad school in 2005, I could pop in to Peabody's and spend an afternoon picking out cool looking shit to try. Embrace that glorious luxury my man!

I just love how it all comes back to Peabody's, ahhhhhh (warm smile)

And beerfool I kind of like you being a dick, you tell Shel Silverstein that we are never satisfied up here on the mountaintop, we must always search for the biggest and the best and demand it from our NC brewers!

Just kidding, Glenn now you see what I have to put up with, with this guy all the time!

What is everybody thinking about their bottles? I cracked one last night, not as impressed with the nose compared to on tap, but I've had a cold and I'm a little stopped up.
