Already three negative quotes on the FB page. Hartford county has been "shafted" many times prior. As Sandman said, make the drive and get a growler or three.

It's this sort of negativity directed directly at brewers online that discourage them from even bothering to keep us updated

Exactly! I have been frustrated in the past with the lack of updates but need to realize they are running a business during the day, not concerned with the BS on FB. Better to call during lunch, there is always a friendly voice on the other end.

Nothing harsh, just a reminder that the brewery is AT MOST 45 minutes away from someone in Fairfield County. Well, maybe longer if you live on the far side of Greenwich, but you get the picture :sunglasses:

I urge anyone who feels tempted to complain about NEBCO's distribution to take the (short amount of) time to stop by and say hello. Not only are they some of the friendliest people in the business, it's immediately apparent how freaking hard they are working to get as much tasty beer as possible out to all of us. I was just over there, and they were simultaneously pouring me samples, answering my questions, forklifting pallets of Sea Hag, and labeling/shrinkwrapping case after case of Premeditated Murder.

It's a tiny, tiny operation, and basically everything is done by hand. Combine that fact with the reality that big stores like Amity and Julio's are asking for more beer in one order than they can brew in a week, and it's frankly impressive that they're able to fill as many shelves as they are. Only a handful of people in the whole country are lucky enough to be in their distribution area, so how about we count our blessings and support them directly rather than gripe about having to wait a couple weeks for their most popular beer?

    /end rant.

You should copy and paste that onto their Facebook page where the whining is happening....

There really isn't any point in arguing with anyone who says things like that, people will be dicks online and always will be.

I just picked up some from Amity (still a ton of it left) and looking forward to cracking one open

What flavor did you pick up from there?
Every time I go to Amity, they rarely have Ghandi Bot...
I always see Elm City/Sea Hag/668, but never Bot. :slight_frown:

I'm guessing it's the Bot.... Yeah New Haven county last got some in June and it was released quarterly. Goes pretty fast

Oh sorry, I bought Ghandi Bot. You pretty much have to keep an eye out for announcements that they'll have it since they only seem to brew it every once and awhile and it goes rather quickly when they do.

Hey dr I am in the cuse and went to grad school in new haven almost 6 years ago! My wife and I are coming to visit new haven next fri through Sunday. So excited to be back. A lot has changed in the past few years it seems. We are definitely planning on attending the final Friday party at nebco. I used to attend the earliest ones where it was $5 all you could drink sea hag and elm city lager/Atlantic amber. Can't wait to get some great beers and new haven pizza again.....

Is there any chance amity in Woodbridge or Hamden will still have some Gandhi bot next weekend? I've never had it before amd would love to pick some up, along with some sea hag, etc. I am also planning on bringing some beers from the cuse distribution area if anyone attending the final Friday wants to exchange a beer or two. Also, besides delaneys, bar, co jones/Anna liffys (the last two were stumbling distance to my place), we plan to go prime 16 and cask republic. Any other beer bars in the area (micro in Hamden) worth going to? Any newer restaurant suggestions would be appreciated as well

I don't think Gandhi Bot will be on the shelves next weekend (if it is, I find it last a bit longer on the shelves in Hamden), however it should be at any of the bars you mentioned. I would definitely check out MiKro- good food and beer.

Negative feedback about a regional brewery who crafts a high quality beer?

People out in On the West Coast are inquring about the availability of trades for Ghandi Bot, and There are spoiled CT'ers pissing and moaning about distribution?!?

Put on the driving pants and make the 60-100 min round trip and support a great brewery!

i remember when i was there a year or two ago, matt was telling me that NEBCO just didn't sell well enough in hartford county. given how amazing their beer is, and how it flies off the shelf in areas with better taste, i don't blame them for shafting hartford (and as an east hartford native, i can assure you that i represent e.h. as hard as the next man).

like woosterbill said, if you want to know about NEBCO, visit the brewery. the guys are cool, and the beer is amazing. if you're lucky enough to get a 1 off IPA or some < week old gold stock, you'll be in heaven for as long as your growler lasts.

Agreed about just visiting. I'm one hour away and I've probably had more growler fills then cans of NEBCO this past year. I've always been amazed they could distribute past New Haven considering they basically brew in a large garage. Its always worth the drive, especially for the beers that don't get canned/bottled.

If you catch Amity at the right time, you will usually see a stack of G-Bot atleast waist high.

    Cheers
