Likewise, I wouldn't mind people dropping tidbits about bottles hitting suburb liquor stores...feel like I'm always hearing about new releases downtown at Beer Temple, etc., but nothing in the burbs.

Mikerphone will have a fresh batch of Mikerphone Check 1, 2 and Most Definitely a Double Dry-Hopped IPA with El Dorado hops and a touch of Orange Peel and Vanilla. This will be available in twist off resealable crowlers. They open at 3 today.

I see quite a few posts about stuff hitting Open Bottle and other stores in the burbs. I think if you look at the Chicago Stout Releases and Chicagoland NEIPA threads, that's probably where I've seen them.

Per One Trick Pony's Facebook awhile back, they have Kentucky Mountain, BA Cocoa Butter Kisses, Heavy Things, and other options sitting in different barrels - getting ready for winter releases. I'll be heading down to pick up all of those for sure.

BA CBK is so damn good!!! I will probably have to make it up there as well.

Had the barrel aged Kentucky Mountain a few years ago...it was delicious! Can't wait.

I've been a huge fan of every one of their BA releases, especially Heavy Things. It's extremely balanced for 16.8%, I'd compare it to a much thicker Triple Mash Dragon's Milk

I've got a 2014-2016 mini vertical of it in the cellar, I thoroughly enjoy it!

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Hailstorm releases. The raspberry Vlad was really good, but I've had bad experiences with BA blueberry beers (looking at you Lizard of Koz....)

Vlad the Second releases are my favorite, and I don't care much for the Conquistador variants. There's something about the peppers in those that I just can't get into. I may swing by for a bottle or two of the blueberry, just to try it out - I won't be getting the full allotment though.

I was there around 330 today. Had reg and BA. Can't believe how extremely different the beers were.

How was the BA version? If they have bottles left, I may stop over there today

It was good, I definitely think it needs minimum 3-6 months of age to kind of kill the bourbon heat a bit. Definitely solid though. I would call, because if they had anymore left I would be surprised. The bartender said that she thinks they only made about 300 bottles, and people were buying about 6 each.

    Also everyone, don't forget:

Buckledown on Friday will be releasing Barrel Aged Awkward Exchange. BA Dark Strong Ale w/Blackberries 11.1% - $15/bottle no limit.

It has a 4.21rAVG on BA and a 4.26 on untappd. Makes me think this might be a hidden gem of the Chicagoland beer scene. Very intrigued.

@beerbelly_mike Awkward exchange is a phenomenal beer. I had it the first year it came out and it was very boozy. However with about a year of age it knocked bourbon county regal rye out if the ballpark in a same day tasting me and a buddy did.

Wow, thanks for that. I am definitely going to make a stop later today now just to at least try it. I'm assuming they would have it on draft right?
