Release is super chill this year vanilla might last the weekend and the vintage bottles are a nice taste

 

The on-site vintage bottle list is absolutely worth the trip to Athens. I got to try two of my biggest wants.

Double Dynamo and Farewell My Friends.

 

This event was great. Awesome beer lineup with cheap pours ($4 for 10 oz. of all BA beers), vintage bottles for sale (got a BA Skipping Stone) and barely anyone there. Heard they were expecting 500 or so people and maybe got a 1/3 of that. I hope this doesn't impact Grandview GE's decision to do a similar event next year.

Anyway I would recommend if you have any interest to go there in the next few days as none of the kegs kicked so a lot of stuff should still be on. I'm thinking they may even do growler fills of the beers in order to sell it.

Also Black Maple is tasting fantastic this year...lots and lots of Maple!!

 

Jesus, that price point is ridiculous. Wish I could have made it. Maybe it’s because I’m not hyper local to grand view but not sure they got the word out enough for this. I know someone posted in here but none of the non-forum nerds I know had any idea about it.

 

4 String and Land Grant anniversary parties cut in to it for sure. All lot of fun beer events yesterday in Columbus. We all tried to capitalize on the OSU bye week.

 

Did Vanilla Black Maple get held up around Cleveland, Akron & the burbs? Looks like it got decent coverage around Columbus. Regular is everywhere. Vanilla is ghost.

 

I've noticed that a few places in Cincinnati got the regular, while others got both, so it is probably more limited.

Not to speak for him, but I feel like Brad was probably pretty restrained (professional) with his thoughts on new school IPAs. At least way more than I would be. Also, I love the commitment to keep clarity and bitterness.

KG: Would you make a fruit bomb?

BC: We are looking at those flavor profiles and trying to find a happy medium, maybe something that has some of that sweetness and a fruity component but is still clear and clean.

 

Yes that is a mistake. We have 12.7oz bottles for clean/ bourbon barrel aged product and 16.9 oz for sour products.
