Sixpoint to release Bourbon Barrel aged 3beans....

    Good afternoon BA.....

    Urk here with new release info.....so without further a-do.....raw ima give it to ya. With no trivia....

    Sixpoint is expected to release a Bourbon Barrel aged version of 3beans. (First brewed in 2012) and it will be available throught their entire distribution network in 4 packs of cans and on draft. The beer has been aged on Widow Jane bourbon barrels.

    "The beer is being canned the week of November 5th, so it will be on shelves before Thanksgiving"

    Very exciting news. Ive not had 3beans only the 4 and 5 and I for one will have eyes peeled.

    Sixpoint's skill ain't nothin to fuck with.

    This is true, as the press release went out about a half hour ago I believe. This is our first fully distributed barrel-aged beer in a can, so we're pretty amped about it. And its right around the 5 year anniversary of the original 3Beans release, when we got slammed by Hurricane Sandy...not a bad way to reincarnate the beer!

    Very excited to try this. I had a few 4 packs of Diesel (stout) to help get through Sandy @ my folks place on the shore. We ended up losing power for 12 days so needless to say I have extremely fond memories of Diesel (would love to see it canned again!)

    For this year at least, the only 3Beans will be Bourbon Barrel-Aged.

    Haven't like a single dark (non-hop forward) beer from Sixpoint. However, I'll grab a can when/if I see it. I guess some breweries are just good at certain styles.

    This one is very coffee/bourbon/chocolate forward, and virtually no bitterness or aroma of hops. A lot of the balance is achieved through some roasted acidity and chocolate bitterness instead. We're interested to know what you think - it will come in 4-packs, fwiw.

    Btw - assuming you already know this, but we are releasing 4Beans and 5Beans at the same time. The 4Beans is actually aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels, and the 5Beans is aged in Port Barrels.

    @Sixpoint, how much time did this 3Beans spend in the barrels?

    Also, what will the price be on these 4 packs?

    The 4-Beans and 5-Beans are actually being sold as 6-packs, available exclusively through our app and for pickup at Sixpoint Brewery.

    No, only the 3Beans will be distributed through the full distribution network. The 4 and 5Beans can only be picked up at the brewery.
