Went a couple years back with a small group and had a really good time because of the setting. Looking at the breweries listed this year, probably not worth going. Similar to the comment above you can take the money elsewhere and get better options.

A little off-topic but has anyone seen Xocoveza in the Baltimore city/county area?

Are there any breweries in Baltimore that open on Friday before 3 pm? I think I checked them all and it seems like no but wanted to check in case the hours were wrong online or I missed some. Thanks!

I think they all open at 4 or 5. Manor Hill Tavern in Ellicott City opens at noon. They have a brewery (opens at 5 and requires reservations) about 10 mins from the Tavern, but will have about 10 of their beers on draught and a good food menu. Are you just looking to try local stuff? If so, you may want to just go to Max's Taphouse in Fells Point.

thought Heavy Seas was open for lunch, at least on Fridays.

Thanks for the reply. Was hoping to check out a few of the taprooms as well - but will probably end up going to Max's today and checking out the breweries tomorrow. Cheers!

Just a quick story about this thread (and Baltimore brewing). I read this on Friday. I took note of Diamondback Brewery, as well as others. On Saturday night, my wife and I went to visit my brother, who lives in Glen Burnie. Driving home Sunday afternoon, we're driving on 695 through the Dundalk-Essex area. Boom.. it hits me. Diamondback isn't very far from 95/895. I ask my wife to take the next exit towards the city. We drive through B'more, on a beeline to DBC.

Stop in, tell the bartender I've never had a beer, let alone hear of them until Friday.. and that I just read about the place on BA. He says 'cool' and sets me up with 3 tastings. I get Omar (good), TeePees (good) and Green Machine (better). They weren't selling 4 pack cans, but were filling crowlers. Took a can home, and loved it. Diamondback is on my radar for the next visit. Hopefully they'll be selling cans again, if not.. it's a few there, and crowlers to go!

    Thanks BA!
