    Another insanely well done release.

Dave Doesn’t Know may have been the best surprise of the day. Incredibly well done beer, of course, so was just about everything else I had. Always enjoy the anniversary party, this one was no exception.

Rum barrel coconut hollowing moon was awesome! Great event and super easy, there and back from Cleveland same day, can't beat it. Missed out on yub bottles, but oh well.

Little late to comment here but the last few weeks have been insane and full of wonderful events and travels, a few hardships, and exciting plans for the future.

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who came out to our 4 year anniversary party. It was easily our busiest day ever. It's always humbling to see the patient lines and hear the excitement about the draft list, bottles, etc. Our staff and I began planning that party about 3 months out to execute what we did. I have no idea how I will top this next year but no doubt I'll try.

Sunday we returned home from GABF. As always we consumed an insane amount of beer but better still was the time spent with coworkers and seeing old friends. Highlights as usual out there were New Belgium, Crooked Stave, and TRVE for sours, though my favorite beer moments actually came from watching Crooked Stave knock out Pilsner wort into their coolship packed with whole cone hops as a hopback (then drinking that wonderfully crisp and clean lager minutes later) and slugging perfectly executed classic lagers at Bierstadt while seeing the Indians win in extra innings (whilst hearing the vocal New York fan behind us grow ever more quiet).

I got to share our beer at our festival booth and also at a talk on barrel aging to a packed room. We even packed some Melvin IPA and Union Jack up a mountain to get away from it all.

We have some collaborations in the works. Two weeks ago I brewed a Rye Imperial Stout at Listermann and in two weeks we brew its companion Wheat Imperial Stout at Wolf's Ridge. Both are destined for barrels.

We brewed an IPA with Ekuanot and Mosaic Lupulin Powder, honey, honeycomb, and orange peel with BrewDog recently and it taps at their Taproom next Friday.

We have a project in the works with Platform Cleveland we're brewing next week as well.

Finally, Wolf's Ridge is doing our first true beer dinner in quite some time. To make the occasion special we've created a unique menu with One Line Coffee incorporated in every dish and dual beer pairings from us and Jackie O's. The list is insane, with some of the most sought after beers from each brewery making an appearance.

    Check it out:

In summation, we've been busy and hope you're as excited as we are for what's to come. Cheers and thanks for reading the ramblings of some brewer.

Not to be crude, but that beer dinner list made me need a change of pants......

Just to reiterate--the 4th anniversary party was excellent--probably the best beer release I've attended at any brewery. As we've seen with some other breweries, these things can be sh*tshows, and I like that WRB has figured out how to ensure a smooth release that allows you to maximize the beer you can consume on site and also make it easy to get your bottles--and even how much the event has evolved since the first one.

Excited, as always, for the stuff coming down the pike .

Hey @Spider889 My brother just brought home a bottle of All the Breakfast. This one, and your website, says 10.7%, but the original version was 7.4. Just curious what caused the increase in alcohol. The 4th Anniversary version is not barrel aged correct?

Yes the bottled is higher ABV. We added to the recipe (maple, smoked malt, rice) and also felt that people would respond to the higher ABV given the price we needed to charge to justify all the ingredients in that beer (I think the official term is metric fuck ton of maple syrup).

Plus batch one was really just an experiment brewed on a whim while the second was more focused with an end result in mind.

Definitely open to thoughts on which is preferable though.

If anyone has tried both the original draft version of ATB and the bottled version, I'd also be interested in what people think. I enjoyed the original version but haven't tried the bottled version yet - to be honest, I was a bit scared by the higher ABV. The thought of a 10%+ cream ale doesn't seem pleasant, but I'd like very much to be proven wrong.

I didn’t get to try the original, but for what it’s worth, my cousin and one of my brothers did and they both thought the first batch was drastically better. I thought that it was fairly hot. I loved the maple aroma and flavor, but I’ll take CTB all day. I wouldn’t worry about price point. We all know that the shipping alone on metric fuck tons of ingredients is expensive.

I had both the original draft and the bottled ATB and enjoyed both of them. Bottled ATB was definitely more intense and, I thought, sweeter than the draft version.

As for which is preferable? Hard to say. Kicking back at the taproom? The original draft. Cold morning on a football gameday? Bottled version.

I don't recall cracking the bottled version and thinking, "Oh I like this much better/less than the draft version"

Carton Brewing basically made their name on the high ABV coffee cream ales, which people really seem to enjoy FWIW. I've thought the couple that I've had from them were quite good.

Are any of the Terre du sauvage bottles sitting on shelves around Columbus anywhere? I know the others were released awhile ago. The blue was amazing. I loved it. Now I want to try the rest.

    Try Weilands.

Also we ought to have a small amount of Red and Green bottles for sale in the Taproom.

Oh nice! Didn't know they were available at the taproom. I'll just make my way there. Thanks!

Made it in for last call last night. The Terre De Sauvage Blue was outstanding. I had a sip of the Brew Dog Collab and enjoyed that as well. And the back tap room is just such a great space to enjoy a beer.

For those who care beyond the imperial stouts and IPA's, the Dopplebock available in bottles to go (maybe on tap? But upstairs didn't have it when there for lunch) is awesome! As well as the Helles Rauchbier on tap, of course.

So nice when breweries have such a vast collection and can do it well. Always enjoy a stop there!
