Yes on the tied house system. Seemed a little strange to this yank. Had a few pints across the river in Henely as well, all that agenda was driven by my buddy usually, he was half-American ( dual citizenship ), but went back to England after his hitch. Would love to have a few with him now, I would like to think I will get back over some time...

That bottle certainly hung around for awhile! Sounds like it is holding up nicely with some age!

After drinking Oktoberfest beers in August, guess its time for Holiday beers, Home Depot has Christmas trees out so drink winter beers! Sierra Nevada Snowpack at $15 a twelve pack is solid price point, Ive tried em all and the Holiday Haze is fantastic. I'm not a big coffee stout guy but this beer may just change my tune.Very creamy billowing head that sustains well leaving nice lacing behind. Smells like the finest coffee, no beer aroma at all, with eyes closed, you guess this was Starbucks, nice smooth coffee, roasted nuts, chocolate, cocoa - this is a fine beer and enjoyed sipping it. Enjoy your new beers today! Cheers

The bottle share area moved more toward the back by the silo, I guess there were some people open carrying all over, so they made a deal with the town. Actually made it nicer, more inclusive for everyone. The bottles folks bring just get better and better. Likely going this coming Saturday (I know not announced yet, but...), maybe see you there?

It's one of my favorites! And a nice souvenir from our trip to England in 2014.

Beer number 2, 450 North Super Juicer, thanks @Grizzarky!
It looks good, but unfortunately I think I should have drank this right when I got this box because I’m getting a huge onion/wet grass flavor to this. Underneath that I am getting some flavors that taste great and show this was probably a lot better fresher. I am not leaving a full review on here since I’ve been sitting on this for over a month and that was a bad idea. I would say it is around the low 3s, fresh I wouldn’t be surprised if I rate this in the low 4s. Wish I had planned better and drank this sooner, cheers!

At least the open cans and bottles are no longer directly across the street from the police station. Not sure about next weekend yet. How was RD's new facility? I was there on Wednesday but it wasn't open yet. I think it's only open on weekends.

Troegs doublebock troegenator. Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma is malt, roasted malt, and alcohol. Taste is identical to aroma with the malts dominating and producing a sweet thick feeling beer. The alcohol comes through in the aroma and taste in an unpleasant way,too medicinal. It just didn't work for me and the sweet and alcohol dominance didn't make this a winner[IMG]

New facility is great. It was so busy I didn't stay long, Honestly have never seen it so busy, even the lot between tap rooms was cranking with partying folks.

Not sure about next weekend either, but if it is something great like a fruit Casey I am def. going.

This is a great IIPA, regardless of regional style. I would drink this again in a heartbeat.

Good evening NBS, hope everyone is enjoying the end of the weekend once again. Thanks to @lordofthewiens for getting us rolling along this morning. Another pleasant weekend for me overall. The CO2 in my kegerator went empty last week when I was force carbonating the stout I kegged. I think there was a leak, but I double checked everything and it looks good now. Just tapped the keg last night, and the carbonation is looking pretty good. Also kicked another keg last week, so I cleaned that out, and I just made a session Melomel this afternoon with mixed frozen berries I got at Kroger. They had BOGO sale for them, and I used 6 lbs. Will have to go back and get 6 more when I rack it into secondary. Last time I made a cherry melomel I used 6 total, and wasn't satisfied with the results. Chilled down the must too much, so I had to put on the heater lamp in my chamber to bring it up to 60F :grimacing:. Should have left them out to thaw when I woke up.

As with last week I still have a lot of beers left over from the BIF from @jdell15 . Will be doing some more today. Still loaded up on new beers for a while now, just got another haul yesterday while I was out and about. Review 5900 was last week, and I am going to definitely push for 6000 before Thanksgiving for sure.

    New Beers:

Very nice coffee milk stout. Aromas and flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of vanilla, smoke, and herbal hops. Light herbal hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Nice bready/grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel. Slight chalky roast and sticky hops. Feels very thin for some reason, but not watery. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. Very easy drinking, flavorful for 5%. Nice well rounded malt complexity for a stout, with really great levels of coffee presence. Very tasty stuff. 3.85

Nice Belgian pale ale. Aromas and flavors of lemon, peach, pear, red apple, coriander, orange zest, and peppercorn yeast; with balanced wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; lighter notes of banana, bubblegum, clove, herbal/floral/grassy hops and yeasty earthiness. Light herbal/grassy hop bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; nice bready/grainy wheat creaminess, slight hop/spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter/spicy dryness. Lasting finish, no cloying flavors. Refreshingly drinkable, 4.8%. Hits the style really well, but comes off a bit bland/watery. Very balanced yeast, spice, malts. Mild earthy hops. Well rounded yeast complexities. 3.68

OK then, he gave me a 4 Year Vertical of this barleywine. I don't review verticals, so I am going with the oldest one. Will visit the other ones later on for a self assessment. 2013 vintage. Amazing head retention and lasting thick soapy lacing on the glass. Murky water look though. Dark ruby red, some copper/brown. This was excellent stuff! Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, plum, prune, fig, pear, apricot, red apple, and dates; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toffee, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/molasses malt sweetness; touch of herbal/grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Hint of roast. Slight oxidation coming out as it warms. Light herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and very full body; with an awesome creamy/silky/bready mouthfeel. Slightly slick, syrup, chalky roast, and hop stickiness. Very slight increasing bitter dryness, no cloying sweetness. Very mild warmth of 10.5%. Extremely smooth sipper. Was a big fan of this one. Very rich and complex with perfect balanced of yeast fruits and dark/bready malt sweetness. They claim it doesn't have any roasted grains, maybe I am picking up a product of the melanoidins from 4 years of age. Still, really spot on English barleywine. Really looking forward to trying the others soon. I generally find these to be better with more age(decade+ old JW Lees is the poster child), but we will see. 4.05

Good afternoon NBSers! Hope you are enjoying what you have in your glass today.
I don't participate in this thread anymore because I am not a very good beer reviewer , however, once in a while I cannot resist! So here is a worthwhile
    Beer to give attention to:

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.
A real nice onyx hue with a tan ring
That is minimal from the start. 4.25
Real spicy aroma's upfront like cocoa and roast from coffee and /or peppers. 4.25
First sip gives off chocolate and cocoa while spices like pepper follow. Coffee then made itself known. 4.5
Smooth and. Creamy feel just below medium imo.4.25
This is a really enjoyable stout that i could drink a few of on one sitting.4 5

    Cheets all BA's!

It's just sitting here. Four packs are $15, I think. The only thing that came and went was the stout. Not much hype for any beer here, unless it's KBS or Bourbon County. Cheers
