Just put the dry hops in my NEIPA. Keg dry hopping 3oz galaxy, 3oz medusa, 1oz Citra. Anyone try Medusa yet? excited about it.

Also, I have the hops hanging in the keg in a paint strainer with floss, however this means that the seal is not airtight. if I purge the keg every other day or so do you guys think that would be good enough? cant imagine that much oxygen can get in through the floss induced "break" in the seal.. but I truly have no idea. thanks

So beer was finished fermenting when you transfered it over or you transfered it with points to go?

If it’s done, you can still get the lid to seal, the floss is thin enough. Just lube it and hit it with 20-30 PSI and don’t purge.

yes, done fermenting, I like to dry hop in the keg - able to purge when I transfer. haven't used any sort of lube in the past, any suggestions?

I guess its important to explain that in the past I have done this with the stainless steel mesh, cylindrical tube filled with hops, but didn't use the floss - didn't want to just leave the hops this time though

Made another no-boil last night. A saison in the real spirit of a saison. I had 8lbs of pale 2-row and that was it. I scrounged and found a 2.5lb tub of oatmeal, and a 3lb jug of raw sugar. Good enough! I mashed the barley and oatmeal at 148 for 90mins, then lautered with no verlauf and sparge to my kettle and heated to 170F. Held it for 5mins, then chilled to 104F and racked to a carboy and added Goodbelly. In a few days it'll get some Belle Saison, and a few days after that the sugar will go in a pound per day. Dry hop with whatever I can find before bottling.

OG only 1.040, no big deal.

    Keg lube.

So yeah just hit the keg with 20-30 PSI and it shouldn’t leak. Might want to hit it every 2-3 days depending on how good the seal is. No need to purge.

Not sure if you have ever tried to pull hops back out, but I just ran into the issue of not being able to pull the muslin bag full of hops out of my keg. I used 8oz of hops and they swelled up bigger than a softball and there was no way I could fit them through the hole in the keg so I dropped them back in lol. I hope you don't have the same problem if you plan on taking them out. I honestly don't mind keeping them in there, but I just wanted to see if there was a difference if I pulled them out after day 4.

I think the point of the floss is to suspend the bag near the top of the keg. That way, once you pull enough beer out, they won't be in contact anymore, and you can just leave them hanging in there until the keg kicks. I've yet to try it myself, but may give it a shot some time.

Bottling the lager , brew another, but centenial for hops, fermenting on yeast cake. Going back to all marris otter IPAs for the wife. She is not a fan of half Pilsner malt at all.

Very noble of you to change your recipe to meet the needs of your wife. Obviously she doesn't like it, but what is your opinion of the half Pilsner and half Maris Otter mix?

It is different, but for me and a few others, a good change from the usual. The taste and mouthfeel is a little sharper and I like it. Perhaps if I had cut it with standard 2 row, or, had brewed mostly with standard base malts it would not have mattered. But I really like Simpson marris otter,so, on occasion I will make a Pilsner batch or half batch for me.

I'm sure mast folks that know me would not use , noble, as a example for me thanks anyway. But if someone sticks with you for 40 years, often in hard times, and wants a malt change, I recommend you get to it. Gals like that are rare as hens teeth.
