Yeah, I paid that for the non-DB version, after tax; DB was definitely higher. Haven't seen what the price is at LBS, but I'd guess that $60 wouldn't be out of the question for them for DB.

Saw both, walked out with an even more JCS instead. Too damn rich for my blood. Hell the cantillon I bought in lex were only 17 each. Crazy, crazy prices.

Same. I had both in my hand, and had to put them back. I couldn't live with myself being gouged like that.

So just saw braxton post about the dark charge release, anyone thinking of going? Had the variants last year and they were all pretty good. Might be too rich for my blood though. With bcbs coming out and me trying to get a reserve bottle (since it’s coming to Illinois and Kentucky), I might have to hold back.

I'm saving end of Nov in case this Side Project release happens on Black Friday.

While I was in St. Louis had an Apple brandy derivation 2 oz pour and god is that beer delightful. A guy next to me was awesome to let me try something! Just cracked my first bottle of fencerow and it’s a blackberry jam sour bomb. Perfect!

Social media seems to be suggesting a BA something.

The Wifey and I are staying in Lex all weekend for the UK/Centre game Fri night (will be weird being in Rupp not wearing UK gear) and the UK/Ole Miss game on Sat. Planning on stopping by Ethereal and likely one of the West Sixth's at some point, but is there anywhere else we have to hit up? Thanks in advance!

I'd choose to go to the W6 Brewery over the green room. If you go after 6 on Fri/Sat, you can catch the BA offerings in the barrel room.

If you can make time for one of the West Sixth tours, it would be worth it.

We were thinking of heading that way after the game on Friday. We try and stay at least one or two weekends a year during football season and have visited the Barrel Room before. It's a cool spot and we get to try some beers we don't see in Louisville. Thanks!

Gotcha. I think between that and Ethereal you have your bases covered. If you want to grab a drink before Rupp, Country Boy is within walking distance and will be a free place to park. Will be better beer and prices that what you'll find around Rupp (pies and pints, hopcat, etc.).

Oh we'll definitely hit up CB... that tends to be where we park anytime we visit for a game and aren't staying downtown. Any good restaurants we need to check out downtown? We are going to hit up Goodfellas by Ethereal one night but want to do something other than pizza or the Village Idiot (we've done that many times) the other night.

    Anyone tried Corto Y Lima?

Corto Lima is very good, or it was the two times I've eaten there. Tried a third but they don't take reservations and we didn't want to wait. Lesser known restaurant near downtown that is really good is Pasta Garage. Run by the guy who does lexington pasta. Nothing fancy and doesn't serve alcohol, but still very good.

If I remember back to where I ate the most in Lexington, I'd recommend Tolly Ho late night tots, or get somebody to order Mad Mushroom cheese sticks.

LBS gets great stuff but now they charge a dollar to open your beer. They mark up the shit that they sell anyway. I'm pretty sure cracking a can is not worth a dollar. Also, their beer knowledge is poor and staff is unhelpful. Does anyone agree with this? On the bright side, they do have Bible Belt in cans. Anyone seen Pirate Bomb or Apple Brandy Noir this year? Did I just miss out?
