Opened a bottle of 2016 Black Tuesday last night. I think it is tasting spectacular right now. Dangerously smooth for 20.3%...

I'm not going to get a chance to sample this one, but I'm curious as well. Really wanted a nice rum variant of something. Disappointed, since I'm not a big Autumn Maple fan. There are some pretty unkind Untappd reviews.

See, I love Autumn Maple so I'm curious about it.

Just got my BT. I opened the box and immediately cracked open a bottle and poured. This years vintage is the best I've ever had. Phenomenal. Well done Bruery!

That was not me complaining about the tang. I love Black Tuesday.

Sorry, bad joke referring to someone else's tanginess complaint.

Anyone know when bottles of Black Tuesday Port will be released this year?

Based on previous years (PB&T, BTR), it should be next month.

Take it with a grain of salt since The Bruery has that "we'll release it when it's ready" disclaimer.

I wonder if we get to buy extra. And what about Marzipan BT?

Hey, has anybody tried wearing their Society pin lately? I wore mine this weekend, and I felt like it's impact had really faded compared to when I wore it earlier this year. The colors didn't seem as bold, and it was less shiny. My friends even commented that it wasn't as nice as they remembered, so it wasn't just me.

Maybe I just got a bad pin, but I wanted to let everyone else know. I keep mine properly cellared when I'm not wearing it, so I don't think that's the issue.

I will chalk it up to diminished mental capacity, after having to read the word "tang" 50 times in 10 minutes, as I caught up on this thread. Hopefully I'll get a couple sympathy likes and regain my self-confidence.

I'll vote for an Orange BT called "Tang"!

I would assume we get to buy at least 1 extra, but not sure. And is there a Marzipan BT coming out? I remember reading there was a beer called marzipandemonium, but not sure if it was a BT variant or just a marzipan inspired beer, not sure.

When Rum BT came out a few years ago there were no extras for sale, at least for reserve.

    New email from Patrick:

"In addition to many conversations we have with members, we send a survey to our members on a quarterly basis to gauge what’s going well and what can be improved. A common theme lately is to increase the level of exclusivity of our beers to our members. We hear you loud and clear - we understand that the value of your membership is closely tied to receiving high quality beers that are unique from the beers available to our retailers and non-member customers.

Starting immediately, we are changing our approach to how we allocate and release beers. Expect to see the majority of Reserve Society and Hoarders Society releases be exclusive to members, especially in 2018."

idk, I feel kinda bad that society members have bullied them into this. If allocations come and go and they didn't sell as many of something as they hoped, people get mad at them for selling them to the public and doing something with these otherwise nearly-worthless bottles?? I've never understood that. Like, people ALSO complain when archive sales show up with random releases that the Bruery is clearly just trying to get rid of - why do you think they have such a stockpile of some random society exclusive from years ago?!?!?

In happier news, the email also outlines a much-requested new option for RS members: you can sign up for...
    - only Bruery beers
    - only Terreux beers
    - a mix (the default)

And also has the option for a payment plan (increases the price by $14 overall but don't have to pay it all up front)

Doesn't affect me as a HS member but want to say cheers to @PMR and @BruerJoel for giving so much consideration to society members!
