Beer Store? I can't comment on how knowledgeable their staff is, but they do pretty grossly overcharge for stuff. Case in point: they're selling singles of Zombie Dust for $6 for on site consumption only. Pretty absurd markup.

Thankyou for sharing some grief. The beers are already overpriced so why the dollar fee to open it lol? I've resorted to walking out and drinking at royals patio . If you can ignore the mark up and egregious can opening fee, it's a great store. Wish the guys were a little more talkative. Maybe my opinion but beer tenders should enjoy talking to their customers and encourage them to try new things. In my experience, they do not interact well.

If you really want to chap their hides, say you like Beer Trappe in Lexington more.

How do you think the owner can afford to take all those trips? I mean just checkout the LBS instagram account

I'd assume it's the 30% mark up lol.

I have nothing but good things to say about Lori and Tyler. I've known them since LBS opened and enjoy a beer or three at Holy Grale at least once a month with the Mrs. I understand thinking the mark-up is too high, but you can always go to other stores instead of complaining about it.

Can't speak to the service as LBS isn't my go-to bottle shop, but I also don't remember tim I was in there and was put-off by how I was treated. Just my opinion though.

I will always recommend atleast going to beer trappe to see what bottles they have and they always have some great stuff on tap. Hop cat in downtown is my go to place though for when I’m downtown for a game. Good apps and the draft list is amazing. They always have something for someone in my party. The middle fork by ethereal is a fantastic restaurant too

Guys, so Bourbon County season is right around the corner.... anyone hear anything about availability and all that fun stuff? Currently in Louisiana for the next 3 weeks and heard from one store they are getting 100 cases!

Ky is the only place other than Chicago to get BCBS Reserve according to early reports.

I saw that which makes me excited! Either way, want to get a couple bottles and hopefully a couple variants!

I predict BCBS will be more like '15 than last year, with all of the LB's getting a lot of the base and BW, a good number of cases of coffee, and a few cases of the variants (dunno how much Reserve they're making at all, so who knows with that). But even last year it wasn't super difficult to find bottles of regular and BW at most higher end places, and there were even some coffee stragglers throughout the following week if you ran around a little bit.

I would guess that the lines are going to fill up a bit earlier than normal since we're one of the only places getting Reserve; those scurvy hoosiers are gonna be coming over in droves.

Well I will be in Lex so I am hoping we get a good amount. I just want a couple bottles and hopefully get a coffee and a reserve. Nothing too major though. Hope LB and all the other places state what all they are going to have. CBS is still going to be the beer I will fight for, but would love to get some BCBS!

I am done chasing BCBS. If it shows up at a share, lucky me. If I find it on tap somewhere, maybe. I'm just done giving InBev my money.

I tell myself that every year, and then somehow I find myself in line again. The issue is a) I legitimately do like to get a bottle or two of regular every year; IMO it's a singular BA stout that I like trying from year to year; and sadly, b) the variants trade well, especially in a year where one of them will be KY only. I'm nothing it not a blatant opportunist.

We didn't get a single bottle last year because we were camped out for Red Atrial. However, someone shared a bottle of BCBW with us and it was great.

I hear you guys about the InBev stuff. I don't want to give them money but in general, Bourbon County is the only beer I buy from InBev owned breweries. When Wicked Weed comes a calling, maybe a couple sours from them, but their hoppy beers aren't my favorites. Rather go local for all of that!

I've been burning off my Wicked Weed collection with trades/shares, and I'm down to about 4 Bourbon County bottles.

They had singles at Total Wine as of Saturday. Otherwise, it's been around most places in the Liquor Barn vein, might still be there.
