the coffee very quickly overpowers the barrel character, so when we added the coffee we experimented with different ratios and found where we thought the coffee contributed to the flavor, but didn't overpower the barrel character, which the beer spent 12 + months acquiring. Too much coffee, and it would quickly go the other way, where you'd find yourself thinking, this doesn't taste barrel aged, it's tastes like straight up Morning Bell.

This years Morning Bell was super coffee forward, which as a coffee lover I was into. We cracked a BA Evening and BA Morning the same night shortly after release and you can most def tell the difference side by side between them. BA Morning is like a chocolatey coffee hinted boozy dream!

When was this, if you don't mind me asking?

I can understand not wanting to over-do the coffee. But I have nothing here. If I blind taste tested the morning Bell I opened today, almost 3 months after release, with evening bell, I don't know if I could tell a difference.

Don't get me wrong, it was very good. Just I expected to be able to pick out some coffee. I appreciate Glenn's response and totally respect the reasoning. But i caught basically no coffee flavor. As a lover of coffee, coffee beers, and morning Bell...this just leaves me wanting something a bit different I suppose.

Just to be clear, not trying to bash Kane or this beer. Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience and if this experience is what was intended, is all. If it is - great, I know to save my money next year and just stick to regular MB. If it's not, then great again because I have another bottle that I will now look forward to opening.

Just looked at my camera roll on my phone, it was 9/8 that we cracked one of each, I opened a BA Evening and my buddy's neighbor opened a BA Morning, so about a month after release.

As Glenn said, it seems the ratios of the coffee in the BA version was different than the normal version for the reasons he stated. You also have to expect adjunct flavor to fall off a bit over time, and we are at the 3 month point for the BA Bells, give or take when they actually were bottled at the brewery as well. That's why I try not to sit on my Morning Bell bottles BA or normal long as the coffee does die down a bit.

I have my two BA Morning still and plan on cracking one at Thanksgiving with some people so I can report on mine at that point as well, i'll likely bring an Evening out also that day. I have a bottle or 2 of regular Morning Bell as well and might open one soon to see how they are holding up and how much coffee died down. I know people sitting on MB from previous years, I wonder what they are like now as well

I had one within a few weeks of getting it and one about 2 weeks ago. Last time Kane put this out, it was outstanding. Didn't think so this year. The few people I share with agree and we were a little disappointed, still good, just not great. Will definitely get it next time though.

Why not both? I agree with Mosaic Punch as permanent over Party Wave, along with a new one every few weeks. Also, while we're at it, why not cans of a porter or stout, like Christian Patrick?

Cans of Christian Patrick occasionally would be great, would also love to see a Helles or Lager more often thrown into the regular rotation.

As much as I like all of the hazy IPA's and juice bombs, there is still something to be said about the other quality beer that Kane makes that is so under the radar.

I'm wondering this too. I plan on heading up there tomorrow either way so as long as they have something canned I'm a happy camper.

taplist has been out of this world the past month to month and a half. Wish Mosaic was up still but hey I can't complain how long it was up there.

See ya there tonight, making the rare after work Friday trip! Cheers

Fugggg. They put imperial sneakbox on for growlers!?! Was only available as a sample last night. Really wanted to get one to bring home. The rest of the list was great. Had a sneak and Mexican brunch.
