Founders beer releases

They sent out a survey about how KBS Day was run last year. That absolutely could be about KBS Day 2018, but I wonder if they might be using it as quick feedback before releasing plans for 12/1

 

Its official, tickets are $50. One ticket, 2 bottles, per person.

My hunch is that is too far to drive for a whopping 2 bottles for a lot of people.

 

You'd be god damn surprised. Remember, the initial CBS release was kind of pre-craft beer hype. I remember tons showing up for it, but it wasn't anywhere near 2012 KBS-level insanity or 2014 BCBS. For many, this might be the first chance to actually try this beer or snag bottles, and I'm sure many will come out of the woodwork for it. CBS has gained a lot of fans and seekers since 2011.

I wouldn't expect 2 bottles to deter very many on THESE forums!

 

With the limit being two bottles straight from the source, makes you wonder how limited distribution is going to be.

 

Looks like I am waiting for it to hit distribution with those limits. Not worth driving 2.5 hours each way for 2 bottles.

With Transient and OddSide also on the nearby map I don't see a problem with this adventure.

 

I'll give it a go for tickets probably...and expect to be completely shut out. A trip up to GR with some of the stops already mentioned along the way make that a decent weekend day or two...even if CBS isn't involved.

 

So are you allowed to buy tickets for multiple days? Or only allowed to go for one day? I know in the kbs line there were a bunch of people there on Sunday who had tickets and went to the earlier days

 

9-10 hours each way for me and I'll probably make the drive if I can get tickets.

 

3 Floyds is easy too for dinner on the way back if you're doing Founders for lunch and then Transient for a quick beer and to-go stuff in the afternoon

 

Given the price of gas, hotel, and man hours, why don't you just buy 2 bottles on the secondary market?

Anyone know the ABV of the new batch of CBS?

 

I’d love to get tickets just so i can get back to founders and drink some CBS on tap along with purchasing some CBS glassware. That would tickle the shit outta my fancy

 

The ability to drink CBS on tap (or get more than my allotment for making the trip up there) is the only real reason I am considering this. Otherwise, probably too expensive for me (6 hours each way), since I *hope* I can score 1 bottle with enough effort locally.

 

Does anyone know if we can pick the pick up date from the available options or are we at the mercy of the randomized system? I ask because there are two dates I can't make at all, two dates that are preferable and two days I could swing but would rather not.
