Night Shift Distro is now carrying Devils purse, saw some in the CBC stores. Picked up an esb, kolsh also on the shelf.

I enjoyed their Kolsch the best. Everything else was mediocre at best and I waited over an hour for three crowlers. Hopefully their operation has improved since then.

I've been 4 for 4 on their low ABV hoppy beers over the last two summers. Also prefer the ESB to the Kolsch.

I've been wanting to try the ESB, as I love a good ESB. There's been cans at Yankee Spirits in Swansea but they were old as hell and not kept cold so I decided to pass. Looks like Bacon's in Hudson just got a new shipment so I'll pick it up next time I'm in the area.

If you are not aware, Devil's Purse is now brewing/canning their staples at the Guild in Pawtucket, including the ESB and Kolsch. So that's another source for fresh cans to go and drafts at the taproom if you are in the area.

Agreed with those who like the Kolsch.

Not exactly a beer shop find per se, but am enjoying a Prairie Deconstructed Bomb Chili Pepper at Brewers Fork in Charlestown. Superb. But maybe not a beer for 1pm on a Sunday!

Just cracked open a Petrus sour pale ale aged with blueberries. It's exclusive to Trader Joe's, and it is tasting pretty awesome right now.

Checked out the Total Wine in Danvers for the first time. Very intense. Grabbed a bottle of CBC Corcordium and was pumped to find 20th Anniversary BFM Bon Chien aged in Bordeaux Grand Cru barrels. Pricey but one of my all time favorite wilds.

Yes. Total Wine is like the first time you go to Costco. Did you ever see Clerks (you should)? It's like when Randall goes from his crappy video store to Blockbuster and looks at it like it was the Sistine Chapel. I have to say that I have a hard time finding stuff there without spending a ton of time. There are miles and miles of uninteresting beers AND a section for seasonals AND a section for singles AND a cooler with some beers AND some beers on end-caps AND a section for locals (which is where you might think you would find CBC, but it's either in the singles or another section entirely.) I wish they just had a section titled, 'beer we don't have every week' or maybe 'this is the section where we have the fourth through tenth best beers from each brewery'. The latter is where you would find all the Bent Waters that you don't want and some older Night Shift.

Sorry, don't know why I have a hair across my ass on this. I actually like the store. Perhaps I'm still too worked up about the guy who posted in the bucket list thread (Beer Talk) that he was too cool to have a bucket list.

Oh nice...Petrus holds a very special place in my heart. Might even brave a city Trader Joe's to try this.

I had their chocolate and coffee one at row 34 and stoddards, I was hoping to find the chili one as well but i'm not sure if i'd go to the Brewers Fork to get it.

$49 for the DBBL, $41 for the Maple

Insane pricing for a pastry. Could go to Modern in the North End, grab a cannoli, then buy a decent bottle of bourbon for that price.

Or always send it up to Barreled Souls for $4 8oz. pours of what IMO are comparable beers.

Guess they aren't forcing anyone to buy them, but those prices are just so unreasonable. If I'm dropping that kind of money on a beer, its going to be either Cantillon or 3F.

I find that the hesitancy of spending $49 on a pair of jeans that I'll wear for years compared to a beer that I will drink once is actually kind of close.

$40 is downright stupid. Pricing is typically the reason I don't drink much Mikkeller or Evil Twin

Go for it. It's just next to the north end. You can get a cheap T river boat from long wharf. They have a brilliant charcuterie, great pizza, awesome local cheese board, spectacular beer menu, wee hidden gem.
