I think the fruity IPA's and sugary stouts are gateway beers; they have been for me. Now while I still enjoy those, two of my favorite beers recently were Suarez' Palantine and a corn lager by Tired Hands.

As a 26 year old Grimm chaser, I'm offended! My drinking problem predates this new hazy lactose-y ipa trend!

What about that new wave of 21-23 y/o old souls who insist on brown ales / ambers? They’re almost worse than the 24-26’ers

As a fellow millennial I am still waiting for breweries to pump out avocado-flavored beers so I can purchase that instead of a house.

I see they've registered labels with the TTB for the the 4th Anniversary IIIPA, which will be oat cream and quadruple dry hopped, and a Short Dark and Breakfast stout with coffee, maple and lactose. Also a double IPA called The Other Day...

Looks like they're all new, but seem to be pretty par for the course with the recent stuff.

Man I love Suarez so much, too bad its a huge pain to get to from the city, good thing Tørst has their stuff on pretty frequently so I can get my fix.

Wait this is real or you’re playing along with the last few posts? Either is totally believable

These guys must've gotten some deal on that lactose! Do they buy it by the ton? Lactose! Everywhere!

It's what brings all the boys to the yard. I'm just waiting for OH to jump on this fruited, lactose, sour beer trend.

I was indeed 100% serious, the labels posted in avah's link are what I saw registered.

I'll jump on the bandwagon. I'm far from OH's target demographic, but I'm having a hard time lining up for all these DDH/lactose releases. I routinely made the Saturday morning trek in for their straightforward single hop and DIPAs, but this new stuff is getting too far upstream from those great four ingrident beers that put them on the map.

4th Anni IIPA sounds awesome. The only thing that would make it better is if they brewed it 16 times with 4 different varieties of lactose and regular hop, DDH, TDH, and QDH every variety. $20/$22/$24/$26 4pk price point. $50 t shirts and $10,000 golf carts with 4s written in hops on the hood, 2 per person, special deal with McDonald's where they don't tow the golf carts.

It's all become a huge gimmick of words to make the beer sound unbelievably different than the one last week, and I'd imagine it's only going to keep moving in that direction. Hard to believe I already feel like one of those "remember the old days" people with OH, but it's real. They're going all in on lactose stuff these days, and I just assume it must be working for them in terms of keeping the hype going and selling their products.
