The Half-Acre thread (2018)

No shame here. I ended up going back in this thread to look, and it was about 8:15. So, I'm not as stupid as you think!

 

Lemme know what the line is looking like early - considering coming up town after I drop my daughter off at school. Probably would arrive around 9:07 +/- time it takes for me to be distracted by donuts.

 

Might have a "doctor's appointment" this Friday.

 

Definitely don't have time to wait 2-3 hours on Friday. I wish I could show up at 11AM and be done in an hour like Pipeworks. Oh well.

 

I'll just try it on tap. Not into lines (old enough to remember Russian bread lines on TV coverage....eff that noise). Grump.

 

I have some scrubs I can wear. Bring a stethoscope, and we’ll ‘doctor’ some photographic evidence.

Then, while we wait in line, we can work on a musical, loosely based on Jordan Peele’s movie, and call it “Get (st)out”

When I read "9:07 +/-" all I could think of is "33.3%...repeating of course". LEEROY JENNNNNKINS.

 

145x12 / 3pp = enough for 580 people to max out. Someone can double check my math, but it seems like there's a decent amount and won't require an early morning line-up. Then again, who the hell knows with this city.

 

This sounds way too much like the Vanilla ISLBS release...

I’ve gotta say, standing in line at either location for a long time is not how I’d prefer to spend time.

 

While not a huge fan of waiting in lines for beer, when I line up for 2+ hours for things like this or BCBS, I load up my tablet with a movie or tv shows I’ve been wanting to watch (but haven’t, due to kids taking up all my time). That way, I’m at least getting to do something I want to do while waiting in line....in the freezing cold.

I’m sure I look like I’m being too anti-social while doing this, but it works for me. I usually still have an extra 30-60 minutes still to chat and show what a great guy I am.

 

I've got no chance at Benthic, but Orin made it all the way down by me. Pretty excited to randomly get that today!

 

This is me to a T. Sometimes I'll show up early to places just so I can snatch a wifi signal to stream Cubs games or whatever is on at the time.

 

Kinda sucks they could drop the limit to 2 (Which IMO is more than generous for this beer) and get it in 300 more peoples hands.

 

Considering how slow their line moves, it probably saves them a few hours by making the limit 3 vs. 2 ... plus it creates more of a pre-opening line which = more buzz

 

I got there like 10 minutes before and got an allotment.
