I would agree with that if I didn't notice a certain flavor among many west coast ipas. One that I don't see with ipas from other regions. Like pipeworks, cigar City, knee deep, clown shoes, etc. It's not just pine. I can't put my finger on it.

Green is more bitter than heady. Many tree house beers are actually. If anything heady is very mosaic forward to me. I find doppelganger more bitter as well.

I also see many women at tree house. I see all sorts of people in line. All sorts of demographics.

I'm not entirely sure but I don't think Heady has any mosaic. I thought that was Focal Banger's bag.

Someone who knows for sure will hopefully show up soon enough.

If you can't say what the flavor is how can you begin to wax poetic that it is yeast derived? Some west coast brewers use english strains, some use american.

Yup I'm way off. Heady has been around far too long to be using mosaic and I probably haven't had remotely enough.

I've been to Alchemist, HF, had a few Trilliums. For the life of me there's no connection to those beers and the ones I had from Tired Hands. The former were just tremendously balanced beers that were just incredible beers. HT, Susan, Ephraim, the Trilliums, hit every note. Tired Hands Hop Hands I felt was thin and stunningly bitter, it needed more malt backbone to carry the bitter. The turbid part I liked, it smelled fruity but it didn't carry thru to the taste, taken blind I would have guessed it a session IPA. Wish Fulfilment IMO was much better, a bit more balanced, more fruit, easier to drink, one I'd buy again. I haven't had Treehouse but I'd love to try it. For my money If Hop Ju Ju was in 16 oz cans it would be as good as it could get.

Murky-colored, unfiltered, pronounced citral and floral notes, thick body, subtle hop presence.

BTW, I'd love to see the keyword "NE Style IPA" in a game of Taboo, where you'd have to describe the beer without using the words "juicy", "hazy", or "dank".

Watch out, the haze police are going to harass you about saying the hop presence is subtle.

Living on the west coast to me a NEIPA is a very hazy juicy IPA. If you take a west coast and east coast side by side it pretty easy to see. I also note a less bitter quality to the NEIPA, they are easier to consume to me, the west coast ones have more bitter notes and dryness. (For me, I really enjoy the NEIPA because its a nice break from my usual choices, they are very refreshing in the summer months)
    Cheers

That is just a meal in a can, pour and drink.
Actually that is just the particulates in the beer settling, as the beer ages you will see more on the bottom, it is not harmful.

To original question, an NEIPA is like religion, nobody knows what the f*ck it is, but everyone claims they are correct. As long as you are happy with your definition and don't force it on others, you'll have a long, happy life.

OUCH! I can't hear anyone over the echoing in this echo chamber! Can we just change the "FORUMS" tab to "NE IPA DISCUSSIONS AND MAYBE SOME OTHER STUFF TOO?"

Oh come on, don't you have some bad things to say about the style and those who enjoy it? Go ahead and say em, you can be a cool kid too.

None I've had... in New England!... wait... I did try a Tired Hands Milkshake brought up here once. And honestly, it was pretty darn tasty. But every other one? No flour. Seriously, you really know that isn't a general thing, right?
