Looks like there are two weekends you can choose, either first or second. You can pick up anytime that weekend you want. Being nationally distributed though, you can probably get it down the block from your house.

Given the low bottle allotments and the extreme amount of hype, I still think this is going to be a mess to get locally, at least in Chicago city limits. The line was around the building for KBS alone at Binny's LP and pretty well deep inside Lakeview Whole Foods. Hell, Abraxas was 200 deep 45 mins before release at Binny's LP last year. New song, same dance.

Long way of saying every time I underestimate demand here, I'm laughing at myself for the stupidity of thinking that way when I see the line 200 deep. Or, for example, Black Friday tasting tickets at $100 a pop selling out in 30 seconds today.

    Chicago gonna Chicago.

I've done worse drives for beers I liked less. I really liked CBS when I had it last time in 2015 on draft at Founders, and I would go if I can get tickets. All the nice stops and beers I could pick up on the way would be a nice bonus.

Well, in fairness I bet a good number of those BF tasting tickets were purchased from out of staters who are already coming in that day to steal our Reserve BCBS, Prop, women & children and high tailing it out soon thereafter. Area gas stations, jack up your prices that weekend!

Hide your women, hide your kids,... hide your BCBS, 'cause they're ****** it all? (I'm using the old english/latin-translated use of the word **** here )

I'm considering making a weekend of it. I wouldn't drive there and back just for bottles, but I've been looking for an excuse to get back to GR. Besides, 2 bottles is all I can budget for with BCBS and Revolution's releases on the horizon.

Thanks, Founders. I just got my tickets. CBS is one of my favorites.

Funny. I agree whole heatedly with this. But if I lucked into 4 (not going to happen), I'd probably have just not eaten as much for 2 weeks.

I really wish the Caputo's store where I scored nearly two cases of KBS this year was still open. Probably could've gotten at least a dozen CBSes there....

What did you mean jack them up? I thought Chicago's gas prices were already one of the highest in the nation.

Secondary might be $150 a bottle though, especially with the small allotments at the event. Sleeping in the car in another city in place of a hotel would help too. I learned during KBS 2014 that Grand Rapids is not a safe city. Our hotel had a drug addict half-passed out in the hallway in front of our door and the main bathroom had shit smeared all over the walls and toilet tank. Not to mention the groups of people screaming at each other in the parking lot when we decided to just drive home that night.

I think you need to do better research on a hotel.

Yeah, that was the mistake of booking way too late too. But it was cheap, haha.

True. Holiday Inn Grand Rapids staff was on top of stuff. It’s not what we’re used to on State Street but it’s safe.

JW Marriott is the only way to go! Best hotel I have stayed at in years!

And the Courtyard right next to JW is perfectly fine if JW is full or too expensive
    JW is nice though!

To say GR isn’t a safe city is just factually incorrect... I’m not doubting your bad experience but the city overall is extremely safe based on the size and population numbers. I’ve worked downtown for a number of years, right in the Heartside Neighborhood which is home to a number of homeless shelters and ministries to help the less fortunate without any type of issue. I’m not sure which hotel you stayed at but I can list off 5 or so within a mile of Founders which are absolutely top notch places to stay.
