This is literally the first time I have ever read or even heard this statement. In all the time I spent in GR, I've felt mildly uncomfortable maybe once or twice. I'm really curious about which hotel this was.

LOL if you stay in a crack house any city can be an unsafe city!

I want to say a Motel 6, but it's been so long I can't say for sure. We were very cheap back then, haha. I'l check with my friend and see if there's an old email confirmation.

    Pro Tip:

If a hotel advertises hourly rates....don't stay there...

My local guy showed me this article he got from is distributor:

    http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2017/11/how_to_get_a_bottle_of_founder.html

"Reports surfaced last week that the Grand Rapids brewery would be bringing back its elusive imperial stout in its taproom on Dec. 1, but Founders confirmed it will be available in all 46 states on draft and in 750 milliliter bottles as well on Monday. It will have a suggested retail price of $24.99 a bottle."

I'm not trying to be a turd - I am genuinely trying to make sense of this. Is there anything new here? This seems like everything that has already been stated a fistful of times at least.

My guess was it was Motel 6 which is now America's Best Value Inn (or something like that) at the interchange of i96 and Alpine Ave. It used to be really bad, even though the area is not that bad. They have cleaned it up a a lot but I still would not stay there.

I live about a mile from there and have never had a problem in any nearby area, it's very middle class. Late at night, weird shit happens at that hotel.

I think the key point in that post is that it will be available everywhere on Monday, December 4th, as opposed to being available everywhere on Friday, December 1st. I hadn't heard that before.

Figures I'll be out of town. I guess I'll wait until next time they release CBS.

See what you do is you go down to your favorite store, and you promise one handy handjee for 1 bottle of CBS saved. :grimacing:

Hotels are definitely one of the products where price is directly related to quality.

Ok, so the reason I posted this, and I guess this is poor wording on the author's part, but this is from an article which released on Monday Nov. 6 and said that distro was going to be on "Monday". Does that mean this Monday (Nov. 13 or Monday Dec. 4)? My local guy interpreted this as distro hitting in a few days. Seems unlikely that distro hits weeks before the event, right?

But I guess the article states a national distro day of Dec. 4.

If that is true, most of Indiana will get it...December 8th. That's considerably worse for me, personally. Ugh.

Going to need a lot more than one CBS for a handjee from me.

Take it for what you will, but my local place told me the distributor said to expect it on their first normal Founders delivery day after December 1 which in their case is Wednesday.

You'd think so, but an unheated bathroom and leaky bathtub faucet at the Waldorf led to ice dams on a January night for me in 1999 and a slow drain in the bathtub led to me almost rebreaking my elbow after water backed up through the shower and all over the marble floor at the Peninsula Chicago this past July....
