Line moved extra slow with only one POS, even though it was raining. Sold out of NNHH while I was there and WF after I left. Not sure how much was left of the other two.

 

What's left for 11/8 (not much!) Guess the rain did not keep the Veilians away yesterday....

Case limits for ipas supersede rain.

 

I'm glad they at least have limits, but seriously a case on WF was high and given how WD sold last time a case was high for the triples. WF sold out by 7:30 at 3pp last time and before 7PM at a case limit this time (in the rain, with an unusually slow line). I'll give them this, they've still got that hype machine working overtime.

We can get a pretty good gauge on sales - at a minimum with the lowest yields it looks like 585 cases sold. Was probably more like 600-650.

17 beers on tap? Has the Veil ever had that many beers on tap at once at their own brewery?

 

Black Friday bottle release for Dark Daze confirmed...

"We will be releasing 500ml bottles of Whangdoodle! Whangdoodle is the 11.5% Imperial version of our robust chocolate milk stout Hornswoggler aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels for 14 months. Info regarding bottle counts, limits, cost, etc coming soon."

 

Taking the whole fam to DD. Wondering how much WhangDoodle they’ll have given the amount of bottles they have of theat Funkhaus beer.

 

i dont think the two are correlated. i think it’s safe to assume theyll be around 4 bottles released, probably a big variance between all 4, with the funkhaus having the most

 

Not disputing bc I have no idea, but curious what makes you safely assume they will have 4 different bottles released?

And yeah, quite a bottle count for the wild beer, 1800-1900.

 

im guessing 4 bottles because that’s within the realm of what they normally do and can handle. theyve already announced 4 though, so maybe im wrong.
these four being VK, BI, WD, and the double espresso hornswaggle (sorry for spelling)

 

I think it’s safe to assume they don’t have as much of any Horns or Horns-based beer. All they did was brew a big batch then barrel age it and/or add their additions. I’d bet there’s a lot less Horns of any kind than we think, especially with them prioritizing draft.

Black Heath Meadery is planning to release batch 2 of Weight of the World (their collab with The Veil) on Tuesday along with 2 variants, one of which is toasted coconut. The 2nd is TBA. Doors open at 3pm so be sure to bring a buddy if you're going to the Veil release so you both can tag team both releases.

 

2 questions: what does the veil contribute to a mead collab, and how much do those bottles usually cost?

 

Honestly not sure what, if anything, The Veil contributed other than helping in the process. I think it was more about working with another business in Scott's Addition and helping them get more exposure out to the public as to what Mead is.

Bottles were $17 + tax (4pp) during the batch 1 release in May. They did not have variants then.

 

All cans still available today, all still a case limit.

When we ask "why don't they brew the flaghsips more frequently?" I'm willing to bet this is at least part of the reason why they don't.

 

Man, I was toying with the idea of going up on Tuesday but last year's Thanksgiving week release was a massive line (for a basically no hype release). This is definitely not going to make it any less crowded.
