I've been there once and it was so annoying to get to by T, but i never thought to try the boat.

I had it on tap at Ginger Man, but that doesnt help in a bottle shop thread.

If there's a decent way to get there from the South End / Back Bay I'd love to hear it. I've only been once and it was one of the most painful Ubers I'd ever taken. Cool spot but nothing is worth that sort of traffic and aggregation when I can almost see Picco from my condo.

Not yet. So far we've gotten Scotch Ale, Stout, Barleywine and Quad.

Yea I’ve been able to grab most at Marty’s in Allston when back visiting family, but Cassian Sunset is by far my favorite offering from them.

The Melvin Brewing stuff was a nice drop. Not sure I really need an influx of a bunch more IPAs in the local scene, but I hadn't had 2x4 before and they were canned 10/24. It's a great DIPA.

CBC’s Blunderbuss making its return to shelves. #bil and all that.

You Enjoy My Stout is my favorite BA beer they put out but I’m looking forward to trying this after passing on it for a while for god knows what reason.

CBC Belmont has Maple BA Cake Break listed on their website for the low, low price of $42

Sheesh. To each their own but that’s about how much I spent on the aforementioned Blunderbuss, a mixed four pack of Melvin beers and a four pack of Backwoods Bastard. Never tried that pastry stout so what do I know...but dang.

[likely sells out within an hour]

Porter Wine & Spirits (née Liquor World) had 8-10 last night for $40.

Agreed. I can't imagine a world in which I would ever pay $42 for any bottle of beer. To each his own but to me, it simply cannot be $22 better than a $20 bottle of some other BA stout. And rarely will I spend even $20 on a bottle.

I wonder how they come up with that price point. Do they really think it's twice as good as other BA stouts? Is it twice as expensive to make/ship? It just makes no sense to me, and thats coming from someone who is considering buying utopias.

I'm constantly amazed at how little love CBC gets. The JK collab was awesome; Blunderbuss is a great beer; You Enjoy ... same. They're constantly killing it over there.

They are using 12 Percent Imports for distribution and pricing is always typically higher, like if you used Shelton Bros. I think all or most of the BA beers are made at Westbrook in SC.

Westbrook's involvement always seems to drive the price way higher. When they moved Even More Jesus production from Westbrook to Two Roads, it went from $17 for a 22 oz botlte to $14 for a 4-pack of 16 oz cans.

The cost of brewing the beer, as well as the premium for the barrels are the biggest driving factors, but I'm sure a good portion of that price is driven by the hype of a maple barrel stout.

I'll take a small drop every so often to keep it fresh. I grabbed 2x4 and IPA. IPA is great. Chewy, fruity with a bit of a resinous bite. It's actually quite unique in the current landscape.

Melvin reminds me of the other resinous IPA coming out of the Rockies. Definitely welcomed as a change of pace from the juice bombs.

They think they can sell it for $40 a bottle and that's the only thing that matters.

Crooked Stave cans are a game changer. Well priced and quality off the charts so far.

Is St Bretta no longer 100% Brett ferment?
Cans were hinting it was a saison now
