Some guy i met in the taproom (assuming a regular) said they only have 69 allotments and they all belong to jerseywhalecrew. The guy had pre-diabetes, dandruff, and chocolate in his beard so i know he knows his shit

I don’t know if I’m overreacting because of all the lactose I’ve ingested, or if this is legitimate gold, but this made me laugh my ass off

Tried DDH Green Power last night and I gotta say, DDH does not help this beer. Too much Chinook.

Yeah, interpret this however you will, but it's quite a bit better than it was fresh.

It must have started out pretty ghastly. How often do they non-DDH these recipes? I can recall some normal DMD coming out once or twice after the introduction of DDH DMD... but I don’t think it’s that common. I hope we can get Green Power original recipe again.

If there's one really positive trend I've noticed with OH recently, it's that they do a great job of considering customer feedback/preferences/ratings with respect to the beer (not necessarily sales practices, though that may be changing...) in future releases. They have re-brewed most of their most well-received beers at least once while backing away from the duds (I'm looking at you, Dancing Green Diamonds...). And their new beers seem to be increasingly incorporating the distinct elements (like lactose + oats) of their most highly rated beers. So I'm optimistic!

Good point. I guess in today's me first beer world we can't count on good old common decency of not breaking brewery rules and respecting the other people who would like to get some beer too. Pretty pathetic.

All we can hope is that they have to get on the road to make it to Hudson Valley.

That's a fair point. I share your optimism.

Also want to add: I think I enjoyed Citra Daydream>Double Citra Daydream. More bite, less booze, IDK it just worked.

Now I'm going to need to build a matrix to record my tasting notes for each variety of Triangle Test in each glassware style and color, while wearing each shirt design. That's more permutations than a single allotment would allow.... I'd better bring a mule.

I love OH, but this is ridiculous, tiny allotments, tekus AND snifters.

Also, will be a HIGH of 38 on Saturday, is going to be cold AF.

Whomever at OH is in charge of marketing is a genius. The integration of the different beers, the names/series, merchandise and all the hype they generate is brilliant. I picture the owners and financial backers in the old tap room with stacks of money laughing their asses off and celebrating another week of printing money! I can see that fan they use to have in the early days blowing money all over the place and people dancing as they are showered with hundos!

Of course they need to make great beer, but everything else they have built around it is absolutely incredible (in a good way and a bad way).

You know people are going to want full sets of those glasses. That's $100 on glassware alone. You can't blame OH for capitalizing on people's FOMO and the collector mentality a lot of people going to this release have. I think I'll hit up the taproom today for growlers and not even bother going over there at all this weekend.

ETA: Speaking of which, does anyone know if they list growler prices anywhere for what's on tap currently? Also, I'm guessing they will still open today at 3 even though it's veterans day?
