Like I said, if you're around long wharfs, $7 return on the Bost will drop you at old Ironsides then a nice10 min walk. If u have young kids, 5 mins away is an awesome playground at Spaulding rehab and another 10min stroll back to the boat. Excellent Sunday afternoon with a very kid friendly crowd in a good restaurant with great beer.

looked for the Melvin IPAs today but came up short. Did score a 12 pack of Celebration, a 6 of Born Yesterday, 4pck of Devil's Purse ESB, and a 4pck of Mayflower Thanksgiving. This was at Bacon's in Hudson. They also had CBC Blunderbuss which I meant to pick up but brainfarted on completely.

Was pretty let down by the Devil's Purse ESB. Light on the malts and heavy on the hops and bitterness. I've read reviews that say the opposite, so c'est la vie.

If you happen to live nearby to Liquor Junction in Winchester they had a number of Melvin six packs including the IPA and DIPA as of earlier tonite. I noted them because I recognized the name from a recent thread on the main board but wasn't quite sure what their deal was (and I'm typically wary of out-of-region hoppy beers these days).

Given what people in the thread have said I might have to double back and grab some. In the meantime I'll have to make due with my $12.99 twelve pack of Post Shift. Tough to beat.

Wachusett Wally Juice tastes like NEIPA/grapefruit juice shandy, but I kinda like it.

Picked up a few cans of Omnipollo Agamemnon and a can of Even more JC’s at CBC Fenway. Very pricey, but seemed to sell out quickly at other stores.

I think you nailed the description but I couldn't finish it. Too much grapefruit and perfume for me. I like regular Wally much more.

Great call here - grabbed CO Wild Sage at 9.99/4 pk at Fort Point Market. Any clue if they are canning Vieille or Surette?

    Canned *them yet.

Notch Slanted and Enchanted 6/16oz is making it's way around. These batches are coming out of Von Trapp and taste great.

Picked up a four pack of St. Bretta citrus saison for $10 today. First time I had a Crooked Stave saison I went to two different shops in Missouri to find it, and paid like $9 for a 375ml. These are fantastic and incredibly well-priced. Will keep these in regular rotation, hopefully we'll see more styles in cans soon.

There's a Paste blind tasting of stouts on the main page and two things jumped out at me.

    1. Ipswich's Coffee stout placed well and was pictured in a 16 ounce can. I don't recall ever seeing it in cans - anybody else? Would love to see that move away from the bomber format.

    2. Newburyport's stout finished top five and is also pictured in a 16 oz can. I've never seen this in any format. It's only got 2 ratings here so I'm guessing it's yet to be fully rolled out. I'd welcome another 8%ish abv non flavored stout on the shelves in that format.

I actually never saw this beer at all - bomber or can - and was looking for it. Happy to learn they're bringing it back, I had figured it was a one off.

Is it relatively recent or am I just dumb/unlucky/partially blind?

Not sure. I've only started noticing them recently. A bit after the time 1620 came out.

Ipswich zumatra stout cans hit shelves within the last two weeks.

Nbpt Joppa Grande arrived this week and was released within the last two weeks at the brewery. The non coffee Joppa didn't do too well early on. Excited to try the coffee version.

Both of these coffee stouts the coffee plays a supporting role and doesn't overpower the malt bill.
