The only time I ever said that was the entire 3rd anniversary coffee set.

I was going to say that, but said eff it. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Also, wasn't a fan of the red, white and blue. I mean I only had the blue but still, expected more.

I do wonder what makes these releases $30 vs. $35. You would think the DBR, being arguably the most sought after, would be on the $35 side of the equation.

I'm gonna be able to hit these around 3:30, so here's hoping they stick around like the last few.

No I won't be skipping out on CBS. It's CBS at $25. Not cycle at $30-$35. I'd guess Cycle is good based on ratings but it's not CBS. And I speak from experience. I had two bottles from the last CBS release. Arguably best beer ever and I've had most of the best.

Those prices really make me appreciate the Midwest beer scene.

I’ve been a huge cycle fan but I’m about at my breaking point with these. Brinner cost $30 about 7 months ago for TBBW and now all of a sudden it’s $35 (~15% more?) prices have gone up while quality has gone done down IN GENERAL. Some offerings have been very good. They’re getting close to not having to do these 8am releases in my opinion.

$30-$35 is a lot for a bottle of beer, but if we are going to compare it BCBS and KBS there is no comparison. I haven't had CBS so I can't comment there. And if we are going to compare it Dark Lord again, no comparison. DL and most of the variants I've had of DL the pst two years don't come close to 90% of cycles BA offerings.

They aren't charging on most sought after. They are changing by cost of what goes into the beer(coconut, maple, etc...).

DBR is the most sought after PARTIALLY due to the fact that unlike most of the other bottles being offered next week, it's only been released once. Also it was 2pp and a surprise mid day bottle release in the middle of the week. This release seems to have plenty more bottles according to cycle.

DBR is either the best or second best beer they've ever done (I'd call the first Thursday the other one), so I'll pay whatever they want.

^^^^^This. I consider my self fortunate to have 2 regulars to take care of my Cycle/AC needs. Cycle stouts blow away anything in my area(Michigan) Dark lord(variants included), doesnt even compare(my 2 cents) Bottle logic is great and I have a regular over there to take care of my needs, but I still prefer Cycle.Glad my Florida guys appreciate the Michigan/IN/Chi stuff I send them. I just sent my guy $400 for this next cycle release:flushed:

BCBS is lightyears better than Cycle, KBS is about on par with Cycle maybe a tad lower

Cycle has had a few winners this year, overly hyped confectionery bottles like RareR Scooop notwithstanding, but...
No. BCBS consistently has a better mouthfeel, and more complexity. I don't give a shit who owns GI, I don't have a problem admitting it's still a gold standard.

KBS? I can take it or leave it. And anyone that tells you CBS is drastically different is either a super taster, or overly optimistic about that one time they had a teaspoon-sized sample.

    Hellllll no!

Sure, it comes down to personal taste. Most Cycle stouts may be more easily drinkable because of their lower(?) abv (seriously what's with the inability to label the abv?), lighter (thinner) body and potentially less sweetness depending on batch, but Dark Lord is on another level in regards to complexity, depth, and again, mouthfeel. Especially the variants.

There's a pretty large array of reasons the non-guaranteed Dark Lord variants cost $50. But $35 for Cycle stouts? It's a great tool to limit hoarding, but that may be its sole justification, aside from the obvious of profit. But if people pay, and they will, so be it. At least you locals will likely be able to enjoy a good amount on draft. I've still never in my life seen a Cycle stout come out of a tap, and lord knows I've tried.

Anyone hear any rumors of new glassware with these releases? I'm hoping for a DBR glass!

^^^^^^ I Disagree, I've had both places on tap numerous times, I've had all the top Dark Lord variants on tap as well. I personally love me some cycle stouts.
