Tough to tell with it being a collab with Ocelot but I would expect so. If not, they will probably be doing Crowlers at the Downtown/Foushee location.

Just spent a day in RVA visiting family (Monday). So glad we made the last minute decision to stop by TCB (Foushee location). It was our first visit and we loved it. The bartender had recently been down to Durham so we chatted over the breweries local to my neck of the woods. Always a plus when that kind of connection is made. We ended up visiting twice in the same day. Once with the aunt and uncle just to taste a few. The second time on the way out of town, grabbing two pints and two growlers for the trek down I-95 back to Raleigh. Falcon Smash and Alternating Current were the winners of our first visit. We will definitely be back!

Sad news the the WP can fans.....This is for all WP and not just the Raspberry version coming out this weekend.

"Unfortunately due to final stability Q/A issues, we’ve made this admittedly late decision to offer Waxing Poetic with Raspberry in DRAFT FORMAT only, which allows us to keep the beer cold and serve it as initially intended. We will not be offering cans, growler or crowler fills of this beer going forward."

Did you confirm that it's for all WP moving forward? Looks like some questions in the comments on FB so I was really hoping it's just this one.

Otherwise that seems shortsighted and dumb to me unless there are other things afoot (like if cans of WP weren't profitable etc.). We all know they can do warnings (eh hem, like Veil does). Triple Crossing ipas are good and I enjoy them, my wife has loved some of their stouts, but WP is the best thing they've had going imho so I'll be making a lot fewer trips if those are gone forever.

I guess the post was somewhat confusing since they referred to WP Raspberry and then at the end of their post stated "this beer" so my interpretation of it was no more WP at all to-go. I could be wrong and it does not appear the brewery has responded to questions to clarify.

WP is a big $$ for them I'm sure since each release sells out and they appeared to be just getting a lot more buzz by people who were not aware. I also noticed the cans releasing this weekend increased in cost up to $18.50 where all previous releases were $16.50/4pk. if they in fact have increased the fruit addition that is a hell of a lot more fruit added to justify the 12% mark up.

Reading the post again, it is confusing. I originally took it to mean "this batch of WP will not he offered to go", but the phrase "going forward" is pretty ambiguous. It seems insane that they would rule out all future can sales rather than just tweak the recipe though. That, in addition to the fact that it was a "late decision", and I have to think that they're just referring to this batch with that statement.

    Really hoping it's this ^^^

To say "no crowlers" again even? Dude, let me sign a waiver, pass a background check, whatever. I've held on to WP cans for 3+ months and they didn't explode and were still delicious.

I don't know if you had the last batch (blackberry mango I think?) but it was WAY more fruit smoothie than most of the WP series. It's delicious and all, I preferred other batches, but it was more like a Never Never can than a Never, if that helps. So maybe they are upping the fruit a lot. Still, $18.50 is way better than $22/4 pack for what I personally think is a better beer.

I gave up and called Fulton. "Yeah we're just not gonna can it again."

    Bummer.

I read it as just applying to this particular batch, as they upped the fruit content greatly (thus the price increase) and introduced refermentation issues. They have not had issues with any of the many previous WP batches, so there shouldn't be a reason to stop canning all future versions.

Leaving Cincy and heading to Richmond for the first time next week. I have a bunch of the collab magnums from Stone that I have to pick up. I should get there mid-day on Thursday and have until Sunday when my daughter drives up from Hilton Head and joins me. I plan on hitting Veil first to see if any cans are left and then over to the Answer for crowlers. Also plan on Hardywood on Saturday for the Rum Barrel GBS release. Just recently heard about Triple Crossing and know nothing about their releases. What is the magic day(s) and what else do I need to know?
Plan on hitting up Jackie O's Wednesday night on my way down and will bring other beers for trade/bottle sharing if anybody is interested.

In can? I would guess very low chances. I'm thinking it will probably sell out today but who knows, people do sleep on that beer.

Update: I'm at Fulton, there is/was an initial line of 35 or so people. Its hard to say how much beer they have available, but at case limits it could sell out today.

Triple Crossing is typically Friday releases but I don't know if they have one lined up this week.

You can check the Veil thread for info on their release.

I'm not sure if you were saying "next week" on Saturday meaning this week or Thanksgiving week. Thanksgiving week will likely be nutty for Veil and I'm not sure Triple Crossing will have a release on Black Friday. Nothing on their FB at the moment.
