Forbidden Root (2018)

Forgot to mention, I was in a hurry to get home last night so I didn't get to try the new stout variants that are on tap, maple and vanilla. I did get to have another Frame and Canvas which still drinking excellent, and the new red IPA, Exhuming Mccarthy, which is just awesome. Looks insane, like a thick pale bloody mary, tastes awesome. I can't describe the taste, I'm bad at tasting notes, but really unique and really liked it a lot. The Forbidden Root tap list looks awesome right now.

 

Yeh I went to grab a 4-pack and only had time for one quick draft. I tried the Pipeworks because the Raspberry Truffle is the only Abduction I've particularly liked - and it was good. But there were 5 other beers I would have liked to try if I didn't have to run home...

Can confim. Had his stuff when he was still just a home brewer. Its legit.

 

At FR for lunch. Been a few weeks but so glad I was able to try the frame and canvas. Juicy with a nice crisp finish. Refreshing. Up there with RS, SL and GT for me as favorites.

Picked up a 4 pack of GT. Not sure how many they have left.

 

Odd note: my friend was at the release last night & said he saw a guy with a bottle of vanilla extract, who kept pouring it into stouts.

Anyone else see that? Or is that person on here?

They were making a fun combo with the regular ML. It was fortified with a shot of bourbon, vanilla, and i think maple.

 

it is at this point that krajdoesbeer relays, quite concerningly, that he has no idea who vanilla dude is

Willi dude. Best IPA glass there is.

 

Stopped in for a late lunch and really liked the chicken and dumplings. The Exhuming McCarthy was very good and a pleasant surprise. The Major Label Vanilla was solid and I liked the Maple variant a bit more. Grabbed a 4 pack of Ghost Tropic for the road and a great Friday afternoon all around. Wishing @KrajDoesBeer all the best at Fobab this weekend!

 

Who named it? I must shake the hand of this fellow R.E.M. fan...

 

Oh snap. They have chicken and dumplings on the menu now? I've been craving that the past couple of weeks. I need to check it out next week.
