Drinking my last can of Soup Galaxy while I brew my own Galaxy IPA and its just god damn incredible. I really hope this makes its way into the normal rotation because I could drink this beer any day of the year. I’ve said it before but SC utilizes Galaxy hops better than any other NYS brewery IMO.

Agreed. That beer aged particularly gracefully too. I feel it just reached this perfect hops/malt equilibrium around 3-4 weeks and just stayed there until I (sadly) drank my last can.

Walked up today while they were still packaging, zero line.

My goodness...best seat in the house is tasty. It’s messing with my mind though. I used to love beer, now I love complete juice bombs even more. Tastes like ripe mango juice, in the best possible way. 8.2% goes completely unnoticed.

Best part is that even though they are head and shoulders above every brewery on LI, they are still underrated, so I can go back tomorrow and get some more!

I was going to head over around 1:30 as I was in the area (about 20 mins) out but wasn't sure what time they were opening with the taproom revisions and all. The times have been different every day this week.

I don't think I'll be near there tomorrow unfortunately as this new beer sound absolutely awesome. Hopefully it lasts until Monday.

Taproom still closed. I saw the IG post and left work to head over to scudder.

Based on recent non-anni history(soups, etc), I see no reason to think it won’t be there on Monday.

I moved things around and was able to get there at opening today. Just cracked my first can and boy oh boy is it amazing. I’m really digging the prominent simcoe presence.

Is tap room still closed? Unfortunate for their business that the deck keeping them closed.

I stopped by and picked up cans. Asked when the tap room would be open again and they said they have no idea, it's a conflict with the town.

That sucks. Is repairing the deck that difficult? Good old government trying to ruin a successful local business. All that draft beer just sitting there. Wonder if they have a plan to can it or maybe get it out to distro somehow.

When they open back up, they should really try harder to stop people from drinking at can releases, its ammunition the local officials don't need.

There is a TON of Simcoe in this beer, I can't remember the last time I tasted this much dank cat piss, probably an Enjoy By years ago.

Not sure if this is at all connected to taproom issues, but I did notice Sand City kegs pop up at a bunch of bars around Brooklyn in the past few days... Oops, Burnin', and Putting Out Fires based on BeerMenus. Beer Street has them on for fills as well, so they must have received substantial amounts. Silver lining for us city dwellers!

Best Seat in the House is awesome. Really danky start, nice creamy mango, easy, finish. In all honesty though, Second Wave, the last batch, that shit was the truth. That's the best DIPA they make IMHO.

Second Wave is hit-or-miss for me, but even the "miss" version is nothing to sneeze at. It ranges from "best beer ever" to "pretty god damn good."

After drinking a Best Seat, Burning and Gutter tonight I do have to say I'm not really blown away by any of them. Certainly not bad, but not anywhere close to TH, Trillium or even the best of OH. If you're comparing it to LIC, Finback or Singlecut sure it's better, but to be honest I'd buy some of the recent Barrier offerings over these 3 beers.

I agree but must reinforce @guinness77 comment that the last batch of SW was the (second, I’m looking at you galaxy soup) best beer SC has made.

I agree completely. Galaxy was ridiculous.

The newest batch of Burning Down the House is fantastic. I almost didn't buy it because I have a lot of beer and I've gotten it a few other batches but I'm damn happy right now I, at least, got a 4-pack.

Was anyone there yesterday that knows what was available in cans? Also do they open at noon or 3 today? I see a few places that post noon & one that says 3.
