Cable car kicked in 45 mins during VIP

 

I'm assuming VIP is different than Imbibe pre,correct?

 

No, I mean hour early for imbibe when I say vip

 

Such a shit show. We didn't get out of the pavilion until after 1130. Not messing with it tomorrow. What a glorious waste of time

 

Walked in and said to myself "Can you imagine how this coat check line will look at 10pm?" What a disaster that was. Keep your coat and go straight for Weldworks or Chocolate Caliente. Avoid that ridiculous overblown BCS line at all costs. How do that many people really believe a 45 min wait is worth the time at this event?

Everything was filtered into an inescapable bottleneck. Imagine Black Friday at Walmart and instead of having the whole store to spread out in, you have an immediate dead end hallway with no escape and only a wall in front where you have but to try to turn immediately back around to push out of the horde.

 

The solution to the coat check is 30 min before you plan on leaving, you go get your coat with no line at all.

 

if waiting in the ridiculous goose line with a friend take turns grabbing beers from the row in corner where the goose line bends. Three of my highlight beers of the night were right there: 1. Benthic (kicked relatively early but def readily available for non VIP). 2. Cerebral Here be Monsters Vanilla (amazing, got a pours a few times) 3. big bad Baptista (way better than I remember)

 

I avoided that corner initially because the Goose line made the area so packed. Kicked myself when I saw the beers that were gone.

 

I went in with a coat, grabbed weldwerks, clients, atrial, and that soursmith black raz. By then the line was gone, so I checked mine. I don't remember ever waiting much for my coat after the event, not sure why this year was different.

 

How has this not been posted yet?!?

 

So it sounds likes the $40 dollar price increase this year definitely made a difference...for the organizer's kid's college fund....

 

Looking at this year's booklet, there are about 50 pages of beers. I think in the past they had sort of a condensed section that was easier to post, but not this year.

 

No talk of More? Did the BA Henna thing happen? Did Perennial bring anything good?

 

More has BA Karma (delicious)

Perennial has BA 17 and I think one more.


For what it's worth it seems the volunteers were coached this year to hold beer back for GA. Multiple beers "ran out" during VIP but were put back on at 6.

 

People asking for the beer listings need to relax. You'll find out when you get there. There will be plenty of good stuff to go around. If you are going in with the mindset of trying all the whales, you're doing it wrong.
