I finally picked up a 12 pack and I really enjoy it.
If the price is right I'd add it to the rotation.
For a nice easy drinking beer, its pretty good.
Much better than Yuengling and similar to Boston Lager.
    Plus the bottles are cool.

I picked up a mixer of this today based on the reviews and my hope to revisit my youth when I considered Bud and Mich to be my go to beers. It was interesting to see the JessKidden comments on the changes over the years for Budweiser. It does look nice when you pour it into a glass - a nice amber hue. Nice head but it fades quickly. The hop presence it there but it seems kind of muted to me. For me, this seems to be overly sweet. On the plus side you can taste this beer, you won't mistake it for the lightly flavored AAL the dominates our market in the US. I will work my way through this Sixpack but I don't think I'll be buying more. That said I think there are many who will enjoy this beer, particularly if you are a fan of the Mexican lagers that are now popular. For me, I thin when I'm in the mood for a lager I'll stick to Boston Lager or some of the craft Pils I tried this last summer.

I had one last night with dinner. I really enjoyed it. I had low expectations, but It surprised me. The head retention was great and it had a nice clean fermentation character. I'd say it's a good weeknight beer.

Following up on my previous post: I tried a second bottle. Much colder this time. Not detecting the harsh bitterness. Maybe the warmer temp emphasized the bitterness or maybe it was just my palate.

My family (just the pops and I) are on our second six pack of this. Gotta give credit where its due.

For me, it lands a bit in between SA Boston Lager and Fat Tire. Sweet but never too corny or artificial smelling or tasting. I am happy to be a repeat buyer at $7-$9/sixer price point (which for beers like Bud Light and Bud are typically at that price) So it's a no brainer to buy the upgraded version here for basically the same price (i'm waiting on larger format discounts. I hope they come). I would be proud to call such a clean beer my own if I were to home brew it (I've done FT clones before with great success).

I wanted to ask. This was sold out at a few locations I visited. Was this a quick test? Is it a seasonal? Can we expect more? Are sales only good where I'm at? I hope AB INBEV can see the positives of what they are doing and it be okay as being a compliment to their other products. I dont want it shoved down my face at every venue. Let it naturally grow. I think it can happen. I'm not exactly hunting this down. But thought I would ask how it's going in other areas

Seems like a test. This has some strange distribution and i don't think ab is pushing it hard.None of the grocery stores by me had it and the local beer store guy said he was having some thrown on a truck when i asked and they only got about 11 12-packs.

I've seen this around here, but I'm looking to cut a single from the herd. A beer has to be pretty well regarded for me to consider buying a pack of something I've never had. Nothing worse than trying a beer and not liking it, knowing you have five more to choke down, party-abandon, or drain-pour. I think stores are worried that if they allow singles they'll get stuck with a bunch, even if it's as good as meh.

Wegman's KOP had some in the cooler next to the other Buds just the other day. There was no price on the shelf, though, so no idea what it was selling for.

I saw it on Friday, I picked up a 12 of Celebration for about $13, and saw the 1933 Repeal at $9. Right next to it was PBR in bottles at $7 a 12 pack, kind of a no brainier there, I want to try it but it's not much of a value.

This German born and trained brewer makes some really nice beers at his brewery in St. Louis MO, after working for AB.

They stopped using Willamette around 2008/9. The acreage of Willamtte has plunged. Just saying that their hop blend can be adjusted for whatever reason, be it availability, or in this case cost.

Yeah, used the example of Willamette hops (first commercially grown in the '70s) in Budweiser as an example of how the recipe isn't "...the same now as it was 20 years ago, maybe 30, maybe 50."

So, dropping Willamettes after the InBev take-over is just another example. (I forget now - did they stop using them or did they just have an oversupply of them? That was their explanation for their lack of purchasing Hallertauer Mittelfrüh in the usual quantities around the same time).

There is one person that probably knows...

@Peter_Wolfe can you provide any information or insight on the new Budweiser 1933 beer? It seems like this beer is being pretty well received around here and I'm sure some here would be interested in what you have to say about it. Like what malts and hop varieties are used, what yeast is used? What efforts to be historically accurate (if any) AB took? Why this recipe was chosen/developed? Or whatever you feel is interesting or suitable to share...

I'm still looking for this beer and looking forward to trying it.
