The Half-Acre thread (2018)

I hate flippers and hoarders as much as anyone but this beer was available at the shop 4 hours after on-sale time with no wait ... all it would take to stop people from double dipping is if more people were willing to go to half acre when it opens, or even an hour after it opens ... hard to have too much sympathy compared to many of the ridiculous releases we’ve experienced recently at other breweries

Counterpoint: their most in demand beer was released at 11am on a friday. most everyone working a normal 9-5 in that scenario has zero chance. if they want to continue doing that, that's their prerogative. however, a nice middle ground would be to reduce limits (say 2 per person?) with some semblance of enforcement/turning back obvious flippers cycling the line.

Separately, if Big Hugs can get released on a weekend, with also a very small portion of it being sold as a presale package, why can't the same be done for benthic? For example, say this year they did a benthic and orin box with glassware for both w/a slight markup the same way they do the enchilada package for big hugs. I think that'd be a welcome addition even though the odds of hitting on that are slim.

Agreed. Definitely on many times but I think probably much less than half my visits and I'm there pretty often.

 

Did you not read or understand anything I posted? Nobody sent her out. She was already going there to get bottles for herself, her son and a friend. Out of the 6 bottles she got she only kept 1 or 2. It seems like one of the main goals of a brewery is to get their beer in the hands of as many different people as possible. Those bottles she purchased that day for me will be drank not only by myself but also some good friends of mine here in Denver who have never had the beer. Let the butt hurt continue...

While we're on the topic, my mom got me a regular BCBS for Christmas last year. I know I know, wrong thread but I was impressed. Mama FMD crushin' you fools w/the Costco and Sam's Club connects.

Who knows, she might step it up this year with a CBS. Jewel making mom cool again this Christmas...

Benthis is trading much higher than i thought it would. People are bending over backwards.

 

$80? Last year it was at $+100 if I recall correctly.

I think people are saving up Benthic ammo for BCBS Reserve and Prop. Things will definitely cool off, there are a lot of Benthic bottles out there
