LMBO!! That's awesome!!!! Pets are a blessing in this world and I was not much of an animal lover growing up. My attitude has changed 180 degrees over the years and moments like yours and mine just cements the reality of the emotional bond that develops. I love stories like that. As a side note, I was at Weyerbacher a few months ago and they were hosting a big dog event at the brewery and beer geeks from all over brought their dogs out, the parking lot was jam packed.

Although I'm an animal lover of all kinds, I'm allergic to cats. But I love seeing the affection of your cat. I don't usually associate cats with those types of interactions. I'm sure @cjgiant and others are used to it.

The chili is almost done cooking. It'll cool while I watch some Stranger Things then into the fridge until dinner tomorrow.

Perfect timing, Half-time. Heading to the hot tub with an Ozark DIPA. I put more than a few miles on my shoes today at work, still as fat as ever...

    A beer for me:[IMG]
Cinder appears to be of the same persuasion as the freeloader at my place Midnight the Cat: Klingon.

Heck, yeah ... to be that big and clunky, relatively speaking, yet still able to do the things it can do ... and the wing sweep? It's hard not to love.

Wanted to listen to some of this tonight on my "Sunday":

... and can't say why, but it got me hankering for Dylan:

    Cheers!

Evil Twin / Westbrook Maple Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break

Yesterday my second child was born. I was planning to celebrate with something special from the cellar. On my way home I stopped at the store specifically to purchase a bottle of Boulevard Cabernet Cask Imperial Stout (which I did). Sitting on the shelf was this beer. My initial reaction was that the beer is likely overpriced, and that I would not like the beer since I thought that the original collaboration beer was inferior to Mexican Cake.

Needless to say, I used the special occasion and my belief in Evil Twin's ability to successfully maple bourbon barrel age a stout as justification that I should buy the beer.

I did, and it is fucking amazing. Like, "fuck me running one hundred and sixty" good:

So, here I am at home, drinking this beer, while my three year old daughter is asleep upstairs, missing my wife and 1 day old son who are at the hospital together.

Delicious Cream ale as always. Flavors of lemon, grapefruit, orange, pear, apple, cracker, corn, and white bread; with some floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light floral/grassy bitterness on the finish. Light-medium bodied; moderately crisp and fairly grainy/bready mouthfeel; slight hop stickiness. Very clean, refreshing, and fairly dry. Nicely flavorful and well balanced. Nice dry hop flavors, but still stays true to style. Not as fruity/yeasty as others I've had in the style though. Will keep grabbing singles when I feel like having a cream ale. Which is any day of the year. I have already drank over a 12 pack worth of singles just this year. Blackrocks is definitely a top favorite local brewery, regardless of style.

Fantastic APA! Finishing off the 4 pack. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate lightly toasted biscuit, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds and increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely easy drinking, never overly aggressive. Spot on pale ale all the way through. Super dank, vibrant, and juicy hops; great balancing bready malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness. Look forward to trying more hoppy beers from Ellison, because they all keep delivering amazing results.

Incredible as always. Flavors of juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness. Very smooth finish with balanced hop stickiness and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, never astringent. Has all the Mosaic and Citra hop flavors I love, with balanced bready malts to make it taste super juicy. Glad I decided to revisit this beer last year, a top favorite IPA now for sure. I need to keep this around more often. I love so many Deschutes beers, it's hard to choose which one I want. They are all on rotational 6 pack buys.

This is amazing! Flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet potato, spicy rye, toasted pie crust, whiskey, and oak. Light balancing spice bitterness and rye/whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Fairly full bodied; very creamy, bready, grainy; lightly slick, syrupy, and sticky in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying from sticky spices and spicy rye/oak. Mildly warming 11%, no barrel booze. Dangerously smooth sipper. Balance between the spices, malt, potatoes, and rye whiskey barrels is damn near perfect. This delivers all that I expected from it. Glad they released it again this year. Already grabbed a few, will definitely get more if they are still around.

Haha-our boy cat is really a dog, and I get the treatment you described every day, except with added whining when I actively avoid the cat’s hounding (pun intended).

The girl cat is much more “cat-like” in that she strolls by every so often on her own terms for some affection, then is off. Unless she’s out of food - then she’s more assertive and vocal.

Just finished a Backwoods before a bed time checkup to see if the bar was as slow as earlier. Describing cats, so... yep
