Yeah the doppel, Sustinator, is incredible. One of the best doppelbocks stateside. Pretty much all of the German styles are bang on.

I've been curious to hear what others think about the WR Gose. Its my favorite gose, its not some awful kettle soured Xantac chaser.

Love the Gose! Tried it on tap and took a few bottles with me.

Yeah it's obviously a serious situation that needs more attention. Also, one of my brewer's wife is Puerto Rican and has family down there so it's hitting extra close to home.

We'll be tapping a new infusion tomorrow as well - Puerto Rican Sunrise. It's Hefeweizen infused with hibiscus and coffee.

Hats off to @Spider889 @beace and the wolf ridge crew on the amazing beer dinner last night. Two breweries I think have the best customer service....and beers pulled off a unique and delicious event where I felt like I got every dollar I spent and more. The glassware we got to take home made me feel they lost money on this.

I highly recommend going to the next one even if it peaks your interest a little.

It sounded really awesome, but all that coffee on a Sunday night scared me off. A massive beer share the night before might have also helped seal my decision to miss out as well.

What were the pour sizes like? We've been to a JO one in the past and they were very generous!

I was most interested in the unique brews being offered as well as the food pairings, WR has always impressed me with their dishes.

I've enjoyed the food every time I've eaten at Wolf's Ridge and both breweries make terrific beer, but I don't eat meat, so it was pretty much a no-go for me.

5 oz pours of each beer so essentially 50 oz of beer. Most of the coffee was associated with the beer and food. Their approach with infusing the coffee in each dish was interesting and well executed.

Just wanted to congratulate you guys on the Gold at FOBAB. Both of the beers I had up there were great, although I was hoping to get one of the Dire Wolf variants.

Hopefully I can make my way up that way soon!

It looked like Ohio did pretty well at FOBAB. Listerman brought home at least two.

Ohio did really well. Listermann, Wolf's Ridge, Warped Wing, Zaftig, Rhinegeist and Rivertown all medaled.

They got a gold and the same beer was voted 2nd place best of show. They were called back on stage but weirdly weren't given a second medal (BOS was though).

Thanks! We were trying to both be strategic with medals and work with what we had on hand. I only really had adjunct Dire to send which imo is a crap shoot category, and a bunch of sour options. The Green was almost going to be TDS Red (my favorite) but my brewers were divided between the two options. After a side by side of all 4 TDS variants Green stood out like a sore thumb with the most unique and punchy aroma. Glad I listened, haha.

Red Legacy was a toss up. I feel it could have been better (and subsequent batches will be better) but it won Silver at a comp in Indiana and was rated pretty high by Paste so it was a calculated shot at a medal.

Next year I might try to send a Dire and a Sour depending on what's available at the time. However, the other side of the coin is that for a brewery of our size sending beer to FOBAB is crazy expensive. It's all donated on top of an entry fee per beer for the mandatory competition. If I sent BA Coffee Joy it's weighing the out of state word of mouth generation and chance at a medal against the fact that the qty of beer required for the fest is worth over $1600 to us if bottled. As our barrel program grows it will become easier to justify this though. The TDS kegs/bottles are a much easier donation financially.

I tried the Red Legacy as well. I enjoyed it, but I was pretty deep into the tasters at that point! Either way, congrats! Glad to see some of your stuff popping up around Cincy too!

Late to the party here, but the TDS Nectargreen I had at the anniversary party was one of the best beers I've tried all year. Any chance that'll be bottled in the future?

No plans right now but we're still on the first year of real sour production. Fruiting properly adds a ton of time, cost, and planning so we haven't done anything large scale other than the TDS Blue which was mostly peel.

I am hopeful we can start sourcing Ohio grown fruit in 2018 for some beers though, and we have a puncheon or two I might add tart cherries to before release.

TDS Red is my personal favorite too, but I thought Red Legacy was killer. The next batch being “better” is an eye catcher!

It's tasting great already at 4 months (which is young) and we plan to let it go at least a year. Batch 1 was 16 months but could have come out sooner, we just weren't ready to move it at the time.

We also have plans to better control the temperature in our barrel room which ought to produce cleaner beer over time as improvements are made.
