EDITED: Never mind! I see now that the coffee version finished with the also-rans. So I've answered my own question.



I'm a little confused though. The Paste tasting thinks they were rating the NON coffee version. Were they mistaken? Or is Newburyport still releasing both a standard and the coffee version?

 

Pretty sure NBPT is releasing both and maybe a nitro version. There's a whole slew of Joppa coming

 

Not sure if this is what you're talking about exactly but I do experience a lot of selective blindness in my beer shopping these days. For instance, I know Sam Adams must be at every beer store I go to but I can't remember the last time I actually noticed it.

 

I haven't seen Sam Adams in years and I go to different craft beer stores 2-3 times a week. Every week.

 

Sam Adams is asking $20 a fill for the NEIPA their touting at the new taproom.

$20 4pk in our near future?

 

I was mostly just being self deprecating in that particular post but I absolutely know exactly what you mean! There's actually a lot of cool research on that general phenomenon. The wiki page for "inattentional blindness" is a decent primer if you haven't read any of it before.

 

Sierra Nevada fresh hop 12 pack cans, bought one yesterday. 4x3 cans.

 

Anyone seen Celebration cans around? I saw that they are in the fresh hop packs, but haven't seen 6 or 12 packs of Celebration cans

 

My understanding is Celebration cans are strictly available in Fresh Hop packs and are not can conditioned. However I did notice CBC Fort Point seemed to have broken up the Fresh Hops pack.

 

Ah. Oh well!

 

Joppa Grande Cans are trickling out to market this week.

The coffee & nitro varients are at the Brewery though a tiny bit of draft may pop up.

I was also excited to see how well Two Roads Espressway did as I don't think that beer gets half the credit it deserves.

 

If those Paste lists are at all widely read they just lucked into some pretty good release timing!

 

I just dove headfirst into the Jolly Woodsman seasonal release from Banded Horn. New can design so it stands out from afar against any old stock. This along with Zumatra from Ipswich were my favorites last year. I actually gave Coffee Pot & Kettle a break because of these two sonofaguns.

 

Found both at CBC Belmont today. They had a pretty large stack of Castle Island High Def as well in case anyone is interested.

 

Jolly Woodsman is one of my all time favorite coffee stouts and very underrated. Look forward to it every year.

I saw Fort Point Market tweeted about the Sierra Nevada Fresh Hop Pack a few days ago, but I haven't seen anyone else post about it (and it hasn't shown up at my local Wegmans). Anyone seen this anywhere else around the greater Boston area?

 

They had it at CBC Belmont Wednesday, both twelve packs and singles. I grabbed the single IPA and thought it was fantastic - looked like an NE and tasted like a West Coast.

 

Total Wine in Danvers had quite a few at 3pm today.
