Coffee Abraxas 2017

 

Frozen Frozen Ocean Ocean double IPA brewed by Veil. Canned yesterday.

 

My first Wyoming beer. And its damn good

 

Finished cooking up some Italian meatballs:



Paired with tomato sauce, angel hair and freshly grated Parmigiano (yes, there's pasta somewhere under cheese):



Oh, and of course, what pairs better with Italian food than a Black Chocolate Stout:

 

Firestone Walker Mocha Merlin. Coffee infused oatmeal stout 5.5%. Has a pretty good coffee bean aroma and flavor. It's smooth and easy to drink. Kinda light in body and doesn't have a lot of black coffee bitterness but it works for the 5.5% it's like a lighter more approachable Xocoveza without the cinnamon vanilla and chile. Good lasting dark chocolate and coffee flavor on the finish without a lot of sweetness. Sixer of cans for $8.99, well worth it.

Here's a blast from the past. I saw the Lovin' Spoonful at the University of Maine in 1967.

 

Weyerbacher berry monks with some homemade brownies. Haven't had dinner yet but after an extra fun day at the office I figured dessert can come first

 

Bottom of the can says "Snow Daze". Gonna be a while before there's any snow around here.
