Thanks Tim! The feeling is mutual. Trying to get my feet wet here (which is easy enough), then I'm in! Finished a couple more "thank you cards" this week and such, but should be back in the game again son enough.

No I don't think of tart as being the same as "sour" although they are close to one another. I would use "sour" to describe a beer such as Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. As far as "tart," I think of a slightly dry, slightly bitter citrusy flavor with notes of lemon & grapefruit and maybe grass and herbal notes. Tank 7 is a farmhouse ale or saison and I think the BA description of the style seems appropriate:

    Description:
Saisons are sturdy farmhouse ale that was traditionally brewed in the winter, to be consumed throughout the summer months. Not so long ago it was close to being an endangered style, but over recent years there's been a massive revival; especially in the US.

This is a very complex style; many are very fruity in the aroma and flavor. Look for earthy yeast tones, mild to moderate tartness. Lots of spice and with a medium bitterness. They tend to be semi-dry with many only having touch of sweetness.

Anyway Tank 7 is a great beer and I feel really lucky that I can just drive down the street and buy a 4 pack at the grocery. There are other saisons available for purchase but many of them seem to only be available in large, wine bottle size portions, whereas Tank 7 is available in 12 oz bottles.

Sat on this for a little while, for reasons some of you may know, lol. Anyway, not regretting it. Nicely sour, little sting on swallow.

Cooking half a bird and a ton of veggies. Seemed like a harvest beer would be a perfect pairing. That, and this beer is delicious. Glad @JouerAvecLeFeu recommended to grab a few extra! Cheers.

Milo's Phoenix by Tilted Barn Brewery. The Trillium/Tree House comparisons are accurate. This is one of the best IPAs I have ever had. Thanks a million, @TheManiacalOne

This afternoon was filled with activity...I met the deadline for the upcoming issue of the magazine and also had an interesting conversation that might take me in an entirely new direction...
I figure to celebrate my responsibilities to the publication with a first from the first batch of Molotov Surprise:
Here is the bottom of the can:
...since I am VERY familiar with the base Molotov Cocktail, I was excited to get my meat hooks on Batch #001 of Molotov Surprise. Not only did I receive this "fresh" (~6weeks since packaging), the Grapefruit addition to the Mango and Orange adjuncts provide a nice balance to those flavors and helps cut the "boozy" quality that so many criticize of Molotov Cocktail. I am happy to have purchased a case and look forward to future variants.

    Cheers everyone!

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Hump day. A pretty busy and quick feeling work day overall. Had an early morning meeting in the tower across campus, and spent the rest of the day answering emails. Made my usual mid week bottle returns and mini beer haul after work. A few new beers. Starting to run low on review beers again. Will have to make a beer haul this weekend. Glad I am going back to Ohio next week. Definitely will be finding a lot more new stuff then.

    Today's reviews:

Nice Berliner. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart/tangy peaches, lemon, lime, pear, red apple, and white grape yeast; with balanced wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; herbal, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Mild fruity/lactic tartness and fruit/wheat tang on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; nice bready/grainy wheat creaminess; light lactic acid and fruit tang in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing tart/tangy dryness; no pucker. Very flavorful and refreshing. Very well balanced between lacto/yeast, peaches, and wheat/pale malt flavors. Not nearly as sour/lactic as I hoped for, but this was really enjoyable. Nice style example. 3.68

This was outstanding! Poor head retention and no lacing as expected of peanut butter. Aromas and flavors of huge peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, vanilla, smoke, and herbal hops. Mild herbal hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; lightly silky, slick, chalky roast, and sticky PB/Chocolate notes in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness; no cloying/acrid flavors. Super smooth drinking. Impressively rich for 7%; with tons of real PB and Chocolate flavors, on top of a nice well rounded American stout malt bill. Glad I got a 4 pack. Won't be the only one. 4.17

Awesome DIPA. Amazing head retention and lasting thick lacing around the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, lightly toasted bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Super smooth drinking, no warming 8.7%. Insanely dank, vibrant, and fairly juicy hops; great malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Well attenuated for the ABV. Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra, Columbus hops? Big fan, but not as amazing as Aww Jeah or Stache bender for me. 4.13

Thanks to @The-Adjunct-Hippie for this one. Brazilian barleywine aged in amburana wood barrels. This is a really interesting beer! Excellent stuff. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pepper, honey, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, toasted wood, and brown bread; with light notes of coconut, molasses, mint, chocolate, herbal spice, and yeasty earthiness. Very slight touch of booze in the aromas as it warms. Mild herbal/roast bitterness and oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a fantastic creamy/silky mouthfeel; slightly slick, sticky, tannic, and drying. Slightly increasing warmth of 12.1%, zero booze. Dangerously smooth. Was a huge fan of this one. The South American wood barrels add a really unique spice-like profile to the beer; and this has really impressive malt and fruity yeast complexity; with mild balancing earthy hop presence. More of an English than American Barelywine as listed on the site IMO. 4.05

Have not had this before. Talked w my boy a real beer aficianado the other day about the peppers in it. I am not fond of things like that in my beer. He said they were definitely noticeable. Today I get an eamail from my older brother who has little clue about good beer and he said he liked it WTF ?

I just woke up from a power nap and will start drinking now...again. Therefore, dumb things will be said.
