Drinking Ninkasi Vanilla Oatis and watching Lakers vs 76ers....wish the Sonics never left.

Good evening, LNBA's! A day off, but I had a bunch of stuff to do so I'm getting a late start. Quality is the keyword tonight, though. I went to the bottle shop this afternoon and they had their holiday gift sets out. This one caught my eye. I'd been wanting to try absinthe for some time, but it's kind of spendy. This gift set contains a 100 ml bottle of Absente, a perforated absinthe spoon, and a logo glass, all for the princely sum of $15.99. For that price, I'm in.


I did a little research on the proper way to pour the liqueur. This glass was absolutely perfect. The slightly bulbous bottom section holds exactly one ounce, the amount of liqueur needed for the drink. The glass has been chilled, the absinthe poured, and the spoon and sugar cube are in place:


This is my makeshift fountain: a squeeze bottle, containing three ounces of chilled water which is dripped slowly over the sugar cube:


The finished product. Pretty, isn't it?


And to keep the purity police happy, this is the beer I am drinking now: TG Xhops Gold. You'd think we'd get tired of this never-ending supply of world-class pales and IPA's around here. Not so. This is incredible.


One of the stupidest bar bets in history: I knew a guy who had the words "YOUR NAME" tattooed on his arm. He'd pick out some sucker and say to him, "I'll bet I have a tattoo with your name in it." Here are a few non-stupid ones for your enjoyment.
