The Veil Brewing - Richmond

Question about the Dark Daze ship show:

When they have that many beers on draft at a big event like that, are some of the taps going to be in the parking lot and served in plastic cups ala the Trillium event, or do they actually have enough taps and glassware in the actual taproom to accommodate so many beers?

 

Not sure what sort of cup / glasses they will be pouring in but they did mention beers would be poured from the inside bar as well as outside. Unless they have added more taps since last time I visited a month or so ago they have 15 taps behind the bar I believe.

 

Hard to say, as for forever summer and the anniv party, getting a glass was part of it, so obviously they had additional glassware for other large events.

 

All 3 cans still available for today (Friday) as well as leftover Crowlers of Steve. 1 case each on Never Backdown and FFOO, 2-4pks/pp on CT and 2 Crowlers/pp on Steve.

 

The more they release about this event, the more I can't believe it isn't ticketed. I somehow completely overlooked that the Evil Twin collab is being released in cans as well.

Yeah, planning to be there very early.

 

At least the bottles should last for a little while, 450+ & 850 allotments for the sour and BA horns. No mention of the cans yet so who knows what that will be.

 

We can never underestimate this hype machine, they went through about 800 allotments of one Horns variant (PBOreo?) in a little over 3 hours. It'll be interesting to see no matter.

 

Anyone able to share how quantities were looking last night near close? I'm thinking of making a small detour from CVille to be there at open.

 

Not much help I know, but at open they had a pretty big stack of frozen ocean left, about 5 feet high I would say. I'm guessing they'll have that and CT available today at open, maybe Never too. I didn't try the frozen ocean, but they've really dialed in the CT. Its just about as good as any of the DIPAs they make and pretty slept on.

Early word is limit of one 4 pack pp for the cans on Friday (dark daze). Someone referenced an email from Veil sent to the folks volunteering on Friday.

Those yields are on the low side for 3/4 cans so 1 pp makes sense for those but seems like they could go 2pp on the Horns at that high of a case count.

Side note, I know it's only two cans tomorrow but I'm very happy with the thought of some fresh Dirt Nap for Thanksgiving. Veil batches have been on point lately so if Dirt Nap is too that works for me.

~Vermicious Knid-8.4% tart chocolate milk stout aged in French oak red wine barrels for 15 months.
There will be approximately 1800-1900x 750ml. 4x bottle per person limit that we do not intend on changing. Each bottle will be $18+tax.

~Double Espresso Hornswoggler-7% robust chocolate milk stout aged on hundreds of lbs of Blanchard’s espresso.
