This new beer is great. Juicy, resinous and happily bitter, which I’m excited about.

Reminds me of a younger OH DIPA when they first hit their stride.

It’s really really good. The citra galaxy (same combo as One) was a good enough starter but the addition of Vic secret was huge after having farnsworth Street(trillium) earlier his year. I’ve never had Horus so I can’t really comment on where they are coming in here other than the name on the can, cause this beer is straight up sand city. Also surprised it’s not even on untapped yet

I meant to post this afternoon after hitting scudder but they had at least 40 cases left of beach, and only a few (<10) of snipe and fires. They also had 3ish cases of promises though it wasn’t advertised online.

I also overhead a nelson/mosaic Beer is in the pipeline, “it looks so pretty cause it’s nelson mosaic”

Did anyone have the "best seat in the house and think it was terrible"? I had to pour it down the drain I almost gagged. Tasted like stale cardboard, think it was infected or something. My buddy went and got two four packs. Him and one of my friends split a four pack and they both enjoyed it, and he gave the other four pack to me and another friend and we both thought it was disgusting. Not sure if there were different batches or something.

Nope. Mine tasted great and I wished I bought more cans before they sold out.

Agreed. Got 8 cans and the 4 I’ve had so far have been absolutely delicious.

That "cardboard taste" you speak of is a telltale sign of oxidation. It's possible your cans were oxidized due to some issue during the canning process that may have gone undetected. Do you remember if the fills on the cans were particularly low? Was the liquid especially dark (almost brown)? I've had a few oxidized cans before (never from Sand City, though), and they all had varying degrees of wet cardboard off flavors, overt malty sweetness, and notably darker hues in the glass.

You are not alone. Definitely a polarizing beer. I'll just leave it at that.

Up the Beach is like Second Wave on steroids. Great DIPA.

I have to agree with you on that. The smell out of the can is incredible. Very resinous, piney and fruity. It does come off a little sharp and maybe a week or two in the can will let it relax. Not a bad thing....really tasty nonetheless

Update- I had another can of best seat in the house and it was much better. Some of the cans must've been oxidized or something.

Anyone else notice that lately not everything Sand City posts on social is on Twitter? I am seeing things on Instagram that are not on Twitter. I have been following them on Twitter so I get a text when they announce releases. I don't really use Instagram, is there a way I can get notified on Instagram when they make new posts?

Yes, Instagram has notification alerts as well. Hit the ellipses in the top right of the page and select "Turn on Post Notifications."

Thanks! I have that turned on, but I can't recall ever getting notifications from them. Checked all of my iPhone settings too. Oh well, will keep my eye on this. Was hoping for a last minute can drop today.

Definitely don't check here. The secret sand city society specifically controlling specialized suds committee (or SSC3 to those in the know) will get that sh*t squashed immediately and you might be subject to ridicule from like 4 or 5 internet strangers if you try to ignore it.

Wish they had announced 20-30 mins before noon that this beer was on sale. Not in the area anymore. Hope it lasts until Friday!
