I have a potentially dumb question. Is dhop1 the former Hoptimization? And they haven't released dhop1 yet right? At least not under that name?

and while that was very good, I'd rank it near the bottom of everything I've had from them...

Good to know. I guess I'm just going to have to keep my eyes peeled for these guys on draft.

Ya, and believe Hoptimization was only on for fills and samples. So, this will be the first canning run of Hoptimization/dhop1, unless I'm misguided?

Cans are good. A little more sweetness than I expected. Not sure I'd want a full case, but will happily work my way through my 4-pack over the holiday.[IMG]

    Dhop5 was beyond good!

Are you getting blueberry? Was excited to see they said they pulled that flavor out of mosaic

If you have blueberry in your mind you can taste it but it isn't a prominent flavor.

Early morning going from BK to EQ but totally worth it. Dhop1 is tasty and I can't wait to get to MC2.

Pardon my being a week behind, but just getting around to my first can of last week's Fluctuation, and I'm wondering.... Has anyone else noticed that this batch seems more attenuated than previous batches? I've actually only had one batch (from mid-summer, I think), but I've also had a few other Eq beers recently. This can just seems way different from anything I've had from them (at this ABV level) before in its lack of residual sweetness. It doesn't finish with much bitterness, but whereas most NE-style DIPAs leave a sticky coating on the tongue, this does the opposite.. It's super clean and dry--consequently, extremely drinkable for the ABV. Almost reminds me of something from Hill Farmstead.

Changing it up a bit, b/c the wild game is notable:

Carb is average, and perhaps slightly fizzy which isn’t a deterrent b/c feel is crisp, bright, and tropical with a super palatable Sweet, Juicy and Sticky appeal. Notes of grapes, prunes, guava, oak, and a glut of PLUMS = Jolly Rancher

Pay close attention to the nose, as it shows some vinous tones with temp fluctuation, which becomes more of a sorbet/frappe with further decreasing temp. Palate definitely picks up on the sorbet as it sits

The pic portrayed here is the sediment/bottom of the bottle; don’t scrap the residue here as it’s worth a double take: super hazy, thick, pulpy, raspberry-sorbet-smoothie…addictive

Given the split release, what arrival times do you think make sense? Think both will last for the full windows?

Good questions, all I can say is that folks who have arrived within half hour of release time have all walked away with beer so far. I think it will be well attended Wed., but I arrived this past Saturday an hour earlier than necessary so what do I know?
