Other Half Brewing November 2017

Goddamn that case limit.

 

Pretty sure they sold out. Got a couple of 4 packs about 30 minutes again and they had only a few cases left

 

damn it

in the process of packing up to move next week and figured at least something would last. might go for growlers later

 

On a more positive note: Mylar Daydream doesn't suck.

 

Agreed. It's tasting great.

 

For what it's worth I got in line just before 8:30AM and there were 5 cases left of Mosaic Daydream when I got to the front of the line. The stout was sold out by then as well.

 

@Kanger any idea what the yield was for the stout? I'm kind of surprised that was the first beer to sell out given the one 4pk limit. Also, I'm hoping their latest trend of canning some of their stouts/porters means we will see Short Dark and Wired canned at some point. That is easily one of my favorite non-IPA beers they've put out thus far.

 

I am stunned that a double batch sold out this fast. I had true FOMO...and now its a reality

 

Agreed. I just got back from the west coast and was hoping to grab a 4pck on my way to Sixpoint

 

Anyone hear any rumblings about a midweek release? Was hoping to stock up this afternoon but maybe pre thanksgiving Saturday releases should be triple batches from now on.

 

So, I am planning to make my first visit to Other Half next Saturday (November 25th). I'm driving up from Philadelphia so I'm curious as to what time I should plan to be in Brooklyn to get a good spot in line. Additionally, any other breweries to check out in the area?

If it makes you feel any better, plenty of out of staters end up in line at Kane and troon in NJ.

Lots of good beer around to share. I have no problem with people come from all over to drink "local" beer, means the brewery is pushing out good beer and only allows them to grow.

 

For all the antipathy towards the Daydream style of beers on this forum, they nevertheless sell like hotcakes and are constantly critically acclaimed. Like them or not, they are not going anywhere anytime soon.

 

I wasn't the biggest fan of the first batch of Mylar Bags (non DDH) and never got an opportunity to try the DDH version, but this Daydream version is pretty unreal. Definitely has a heavier/thicker mouth feel, but the balance of bitter and fruitiness is pretty much perfect IMO.

 

I don't think they brewed a lot of the stout only the first block and a half got it, would not be surprised if it was below 50 cases.

 

Pretty mental. But nbd - growlers instead. Don’t think anyone need be super upset about missing out on the stout

 

Yeah, just cracked a can. Really good balance between fruit and bitter...nice take on Mylar Bags. Definitely does not suck.

 

Considering the one four pack limit, yeah, there was very little of it available.

 

Holy smokes is the taproom packed. Admittedly, I never come on Saturday so I don’t know if this is normal, but I have never seen it like this.
