Other Half Brewing November 2017

Buy as if they are never releasing again.

 

Keeping with the ‘what OH beer is aging well’ conversation, DDH citra daydream still killin it. Does one month count as “aging” yet?

 

Just came to the realization that if OH had branded socks I would totally buy. OH, I demand 7% of each sock sale, and a free pair per release. Thanks!

 

We need an Other Half / under armor collab to produce gear (including socks) for the winter months for all the #linelifers

 

I’m pretty sure someone floated that idea with the first Down to the Socks release. I’d totally buy a pair of those.

 

Don’t normally post on here but I gotta say, the clientele I’ve seen at Other Half really sucks. I stopped by the taproom yesterday and saw a bar fight about to break out at 11AM between a long-haired neckbeard and some other goon because someone got shoved.

Both got kicked out but the neckbeard somehow snuck back in and yelled for his friend to buy him “a full pour of the ten-percenter!”

 

Tree House already sells branded socks so OH should get into the game.

Maybe hike up your pants to show the OH logo when you get to the front of the line and get the right to buy an extra four pack over the limit. Watch the socks become the new Teku "craze".

 

Space Dream 6% Oat cream IPA w/ galaxy, lactose + oats.

Go with the Flow: 6% IPA w/ citra, motueka + simcoe.

Always and Forever: 7.5% Imperial IPA w/ azacca, citra + mosaic

DDH Double Mosaic Dream: 8.5% Double dry hopped imperial IPA w / mosaic.

 

Glad to see beers that are a little more sessionable ahead of thanksgiving day.

Not a crazy flavor to describe at all. I’ve gotten those notes from a few OH cans... Ain’t Nothin Nice can do it too.

 

Kinda harsh to condemn the entire OH clientele because of two idiots.

 

Any idea if they'll be opening at 3 or 5 on Wednesday?

 

My buddy and I drove in for the Sixpoint Bean releases and decided to check out the OH taproom afterwards since it was only like five minutes away. Didn't expect to get any cans, but when we walked in at around 12:30 there were still 5-10 cases left of Mylar Daydream so we each picked up two 4pks.

The taproom was totally mobbed. It was worth it though because Florida Plates was unreal. I worked at Trader Joe's for years and it tasted just like their Orange Peach Mango Juice. It almost didn't even taste like beer which is kinda weird. The other highlight was Snowbirds. OH makes amazing IPAs, but I've never been blown away by any of their darker beers. Really good usually just not amazing. Snowbirds was the first to deliver on the WOW factor. It tasted like an Almond Joy as advertised, super nutty with lots of coconut.

I also dug their new neon.

 

I guess if they added peach and pineapple juice then it’s not that surprising if it tastes unusually juice-like and less beer-like. Have yet to try though admittedly.

Well, I can still go to the taproom and drink beer so I have that going for me...which is nice.

I assume they do growlers?
