Can't really argue with that (although the beer guy was fine with me taking a case, and I only took 4), but I have seen posts about some Costco's having no limit, and already selling BCBS (among other places). I see it more as a sign to spend less on beer.
I guess my question is whether or not BCBS can be sold before Black Friday.

I would say it CAN, but it's not supposed to and the store doing it would be at risk of not getting anymore in the future. I know I've heard stories of other states having it for sale before Black Friday - not may stories, but a few.

Nowhere in Chicago sells them before Black Friday.

I'd say it all comes down to how much the store cares/knows. I bought BCBS from 3 different stores before Black Friday last year.

This year one of those same stores told me they won't sell it until Friday. Haven't called the other 2 yet, and I doubt I will even call one of those two since they were overcharging by a few bucks a bottle last year.

    Edit:
In case you were wondering, these stores are all in KY.

Strictly speaking for Chicago, but if you're trying to shoot angles with random places like Costco, Walgreens, Mariano's, etc prior to Black Friday to get your hands on regular I don't know what to tell you. The incremental upside for the extra effort seems not worth it.

If you're even halfway vigilant on Black Friday and for the inevitable additional drop(s) you'd be hard pressed to not find the amount you want between now and Christmas. Praise be the Ab InBev Gods for such a fruitful bourbon county bounty, the volume is definitely there...at least on regular.

Unless you tell me you need a pallet.

Binny's got a good second shipment last year (including Prop and Coffee), so that almost made lining up not worth it (if you're not hoarding a bunch).

Spread some wealth to Ohio. First year we get any and my local shop is getting a case.

This was due to the ABV being higher than allowable for import into specific states right? Specifically I remember Georgia being mentioned. Inevitably, you'd think something similar could happen this year.

Was it? Someone mentioned that in one of these threads, but I have/had no idea; I just showed up.

Except for tappings on Wednesday. But, yes, to go it shouldn't be.

Ohio had a law limiting beer sales above 12% (I think that's the exact %, but the point is BCBS is above it). They undid it later last year but not in time to change BCBS distribution.

TORIS the Tyrant was Hoppin' Frog's first beer above that limit:

Freedom from alcohol limitations in Ohio has finally been granted in 2016, allowing us to brew T.O.R.I.S.!! This super-tasty Triple Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout is rich, dark, and flavorful - the way we like it - this beer is intense! It has been long-awaited by our brewery as well as our fans. There comes a day when you break out of your shell, and stretch your wings. Now is the time - time for T.O.R.I.S.!!

That was 2015 bcbs reg I think when it was brought back from Georgia. 2016 had a second release at binny's but I dont remember it having prop or coffee. There were cases on the floor of reg and bw with no limits at binny's.

And they later released the ever stronger Gavel Slammer (and have the gavel framed--they were instrumental in the process of changing the law). This Black Friday is the barrel aged release of that 17.4% brew.

Other than Binny's, Jewel, Walgreens where else can I find these "gigantic allocations"? Asking for a friend.

Sweet, I didn't know about that one, just knew TORIS had that on the description. My sister lives near there...

It definitely had Prop and (I think) Coffee, because those were what I grabbed (and avoided BW). I was at Grand right when that shipment hit, though, so I would imagine the former variants went very quickly.

You're 100% right. Binny's got a 2nd drop of everything last year, including Prop (which probably means the Georgia theory doesn't really hold water).

I think the only gigantic allocations are at Binny's. I'm guessing he was implying that since the allocations are so high at Binny's, there must be a ton to go around. I tend to believe there is a ton of it, as there was a ton of it last year.

I'm wondering if there will even be a 2nd drop of BCS this year......since every non LP Binnys is selling twice the amount of regular per person......then LP selling basically twice the amount of coffee and prop. Unless they made an absolute crap ton of this stuff (which is possible), might only be one chance at BCS this year....
