It's hitting all over today and tomorrow, most places with a 2 bottle limit. I saw lake has it today, thomas and that area tomorrow. it's on tap at pizza luce in st. paul and it is WELL worth your time. Other interesting things on tap there as well...and a nitro big bad baptist coming soon.

Bought two four packs at Casanova's a couple nights back, no idea this was going to be one more ridiculously limited beer. Founders might think about ceasing their ceaseless expansion into more states & kick up that alleged increase in production a bit. I'm OK chasing CBS, but not a wet-hopped harvest ale!

I chased it all over St. Paul Thursday and Friday...got four two-bottle allotments. It's worth it to me (plus I have some promises to keep).

30 cases, 1 case per store--with one exception I'm aware of--is ridiculous. Not only is it severely limited at the stores in which it lands, but you have to fish around a bit just to find the stores that have it. With that said, would we prefer widespread, limited distribution, or have them decide to close markets like ours altogether so it can be more readily available at home?

This Ale went so fast this year with most stores only getting 2 cases just 3 years ago it was on floor display in most stores

What is the most current bottle on date? Still hoping to see it fairly fresh in Rochester, maybe this week I hope?

    Yes.

And I'd turn that question on its head: would you rather have to scramble madly to snag a bottle of three of Five, Darkness, or even Wet because Surly expands to 14 states? Or would you prefer the status quo, to be able to get these beers with relative ease?

I'd rather all brewers too care of their home-base first, even if it meant I couldn't get some great stuff.

It all depends on whose ox is being gored. People gonna complain.

Isn't it like that already for Darkness, Five, etc? Now, if I had to scramble to get a 4-pack of Abrasive, then we'd have a problem.

Plus, these days, every beer is getable.

Right on who's ox is being gored. Witness the massive hand-wringing in Chicago last year over the scarcity of BCS. I don't blame them. I love the business model of Surly & New Glarus. Take care of the home turf first.

I'd put Abrasive on par with Founders Harvest. Neither of them ought to be hard to get. Harvest is. Ridiculous! Lots of us would be pissed if Abrasive was scarce around here & Cali traders were drinking it out of big snifters. I know I would be.

And them there beers is gettable for us traders....

I found some today in Ankeny at the I-35 Liquor store...they had a number of them on the shelf. I also know Beer Crazy has it as of yesterday.

Yes for the DSM area, no for Eastern Iowa. Just like Devil Dancer. Backwoods Bastard should be arriving shortly and Bolt Cutter is a possibility from what I've heard from distributors.

I guess I'm out of the loop on releases, I got two bottles at Beer Crazy today and had no idea it was scarce. Had I not had an empty space in my six pack I would have only grabbed one!
